9 Chinese makes
full use of these principles that man models himself after the Earth; the Earth
models itself after Heaven; the heaven models itself after Tao; Tao models
itself after Nature. In Chinese traditional medicine, it is thought that when
man feels hot and he wields fan, hotness is gone and body is cool. So, when man
has a fever, herb of ridding heat is used to cure him. Chinese traditional
medicine has it that heat is caused by fire. If the fire is fierce, we take out
some firewood to reduce the degree of fire. Man in fever is cured with some
lenitive medicine to rid the heat.
