Climbing in winter can be entertaining........
Whatever your climbing....... This is Chad on a radio mast above Beinn Udlaidh on a rare crisp blue-sky day.
The winter weather in Britain is very changable to say the least. I have done ice routes one weekend and rock routes in shorts the next.
Ice routes do form, generally best in Scotland - as its usually colder (but even in the peak district) but they don't last long, so you have to make the most of the conditions....
When the conditions are horrible (most of the time?) - you don't get your camera out! So don't be decieved by these pictures, as average conditions.......
Snow is optional..... Graham after 'Green Eyes' (IV, 4) the straight line of ice in the corner to his right - Beinn Udlaidh
