An awesome four days of climbing for me, Rick and George began with a nice stroll across the vallee blanche in the heat of the day from the Aiguille du midi to the Torino hut and we found a decent bivi spot out of the wind at the Helbroner cable car station.

After a later than planned start, - strange as we were sure we would wake up early having travelled light with no sleeping bags........
we completed the repeat travese of the Rochfort Arete to the Aiguille du Rochfort
With the route to ourselves, we did it in almost half guidebook time, but the views were breath-taking.
As we finished early we had plenty of time to climb the Dent du Geant by the ordinary route with the fixed ropes.
