Island  Teriyaki

Ingredients:

 

1/2 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 Tbsp olive oil

1 Tbsp grated gingerroot or 1 tsp dry ginger

1/4 tsp cracked pepper

2 cloves minced garlic

1+1/2 lb top sirloin steak, cut in strips 1/4-inch thick and about 1-inch wide.

Canned water chestnuts

 

Directions: Mix together first 7 ingredients. Add meat; stir to coat. Let stand 2 hours at room temperature. Lace meat accordion style on skewers; tip each end with water chestnut. Broil over hot coals 10 to 12 minutes; turn often and baste with marinade. Serves 4 or 5.
