Italian composer of mostly chamber, vocal andelectroacoustic works that have been performed across Europe and United States; he is also a violinist.

Mr. Vigani graduated in Violin, Composition and Electroacoustic Music from the G.Verdi Conservatorio di Milan, then he specialized in string quartet, chamber musicand composition, guided by Piero Farulli, Milan Skampa and Franco Donatoni at the Fiesole School of Music and the Accademia Chigiana in Siena.He also specialized in Electroacustic music at Ircam-Paris.

His music was played by important Orchestras, soloists and conductors as Peter Eotvos, Jonathan Nott, Michael Muller, Claire Booth, Mario Brunello, Dutch Radio Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Patti Monson, Fromm players, Ensemble Aventure Friburg, Cristina Zavalloni, Ensemble Aleph Paris, Orchestra dell'Arena di Verona, I Pomeriggi Musicali-Milano, etc.

He has received numerous awards among other: Città di Pavia (1990), first prize at The Edvard Grieg Competition for Young Composers Oslo (1995), Castello di Belveglio (1996), "Composer"s arena" Amsterdam (1997), Città di Udine (1998), Pomeriggi musicali (5 giovani compositori per il Giubileo) Milan (2000), Gaudeamus Music week Amsterdam (2000), "Camillo Togni" Brescia (2000 e 2002), Comitè de lecture Ircam, Ensemble Intercontemporain Paris (2001)

Commissions from IRCAM Centre G.Pompidou Paris, Arena di Verona foundation, Ensemble Aleph Paris, Piccola Sinfonica di Milano, Milano Conservatory (as best graduate in composition), Orchestra Milano Classica, International Festival Mozart Rovereto, Laboratorio Novamusica Venezia, Orchestra G.Cantelli foundation, United Europe Chamber Orchestra, etc.

He worked as composer and player with dancer as Lindsey Kemp "Special guest:Lindsay Kemp"(1995) Viterbo Teatro dell"Unione, Carolyn Carlson and Gavin Bryars "Waltz thru time"(2002) played at teatro Malibran Venezia during Biennale di Venezia festival and at Theatre de la Ville-Parigi, Yuval Pick "Strand Behind" (2006) created during a co-residency at CNSMD-Lyon, played in various french Theatres and at Agora Festival 2006 Paris
