    NEWS for Experiented:

    Young Scientists - Experienced PhD Fellowships (type D)
    Please read this note carefully if you are interested
    in a renewal of your fellowship

    Young Scientists who have received an INTAS type D fellowship may apply for a one-year renewal of their fellowship. The renewal is NOT automatic: only the highest quality applications may receive a grant for a second year. The main criteria for the selection will be the quality of the work carried out in the first year, publications during the first year, the quality of the work programme submitted for the renewal, as well as the logical connection between the first year's work programme and the renewal's work programme.
    YS interested in a renewal of their type D fellowship are requested to inform the INTAS Secretariat at least two months before the conclusion of their current fellowship. Together with the final report about the first year (including a copy of the publications arising from the fellowship and a one-page synthesis of the participation in an international conference), a formal application for renewal, supported by a detailed work plan, needs to be submitted, using the standard forms for type D fellowships.
    The rules for a renewal type D fellowship are the same as for the first year. All recipients of type D fellowships are eligible for one renewal of their fellowship. (Subsequent renewals are not possible.) Renewal applications must include the first year report in order to be considered by INTAS.
    Applicants for renewal will be informed of the outcome of the selection within two months of receipt of their renewal application.

    I NTAS FELLOWSHIPS AND GRANTS

    for Young Scientists from the New Independent States of the Former Soviet Union

    1.Objectives

    INTAS supports the consolidation of NIS science by setting up long-lasting scientific partnerships between scientists from the INTAS member states and the NIS partner countries. As the number of young researchers working in NIS science has declined in recent years, INTAS seeks to provide incentives for them to remain in science by awarding fellowships and grants.

    This programme is now open to all scientists below the age of 35 years in all fields of science to enable them to:

    • advance their careers via international collaboration;
    • stabilise their position and continue their research in the NIS;
    • implement newly learned techniques and methods into research;
    • give the opportunity to present their results at conferences and workshops;
    • establish contacts with other INTAS and NIS research teams, enhance their reputation and give opportunities to build up scientific contacts for future research.

    2. Fellowships & Conference Grants

    2.1 General Eligibility Criteria for Fellowships & Conference Grants

    General eligibility criteria for all grants are:

    Download the Zipfile and extra it tto a new folder (eg. C:\YS\ ). Exit winzip and go to the new folder and open the file YOUNG_SCIENTIST_2.EXE. From there on you can fill out your data.

    Загрузить программу YSIDES, а также новые файлы - helpfile (YOUNG SCIENTISTS INTAS DATA ENTRY SYSTEM (YSIDES) Ver 1.1 Young NIS Scientists Fellowship Programme ) и Application forms (template to fill out) можно с нашего сервера.

    There are two parts of the application that both need to be filled in:

    a) administrative details of the Young Scientist, NIS supervisor and the INTAS member state

    supervisor(s), travel & costs - using the YSIDES program 2002.
    PLEASE READ THE HELP TEXT IN THE PROGRAM

    b) scientific part of the fellowship and recommendations from supervisor(s) - using a template provided

    in rich text format called SCIREC.RTF which is included in the zip file.

    Keywords describing your field of study must be filled in referring to the list of "INTAS Keywords" which you will find in the program files.

    2. scientific part of the fellowship and recommendations from supervisor(s) - using a template

    provided in rich text format called SCIREC.RTF available from here

    Keywords describing your field of study must be filled in referring to the list of "INTAS Keywords".

    Save both of the files from (a) and (b) on a 3.5" disk (1.44 MB), print off both files & send the disk with the printouts to INTAS.

    Applications must:

    • be written in English
    • include any requested copies of passport, publications, diplomas
