Before the Luau
Day
1: We
left for Maui the Wednesday after our wedding. It was raining in
California, but when we stepped off the airplane, we were immediately
welcomed by warm winds. At our hotel, the Aston Kaanapali Shores,
we were upgraded to a studio (a
kitchen!) at no extra cost for our honeymoon. We unpacked,
changed, and headed straight for the Old Lahaina Luau.

Hana
Day
2: We took the scenic drive to Hana. I was carsick and poor Manny had to stop the car a few times. Good picture spots,
though. On our way back, we went to the Kaahumanu Center to do our
souvenir shopping early.

On the dinner cruise
Day
3: It was a bit cloudy, but we still tried to go swimming. That
evening we went on the Windjammer sunset dinner cruise. Despite the clouds covering up the sun a little, we were
able to catch a rainbow and some whales. We did catch the famous
Maui sunsets on other days.

Maui Ocean Center
Day
4: We spent the morning at a vacation ownership seminar. We
saw a children's hula at the Lahaina Cannery Mall and then headed over to the Maui
Ocean Center. We then caught the Ulalena show at the
Maui Myth & Magic Theatre. The musical talent and acrobatics were excellent, but we
thought the show was too strange.

Kauai, the Garden Isle
Day 5: We left
early in the morning to fly to Kauai for a day. Our guide took us
through scenic areas that were more lush than Maui. Kauai is an absolutely beautiful
work of God. We had a fantastic dining experience at the Hanalei
Bay Resort in Princeville.

Lunch with Dad and Grandpa
Extra days: We flew back and
visited my grandfather again. We also went to Snoopy's Gallery and the Redwood Empire Ice
Arena in Santa Rosa to look around and skate. We spent the next few days getting our
apartment together. Manny's aunt and uncle (and even little
Francesca) helped us move.
