Wasting Ink

05/10/21

The end of the affair

That's not how it works

Unfair fairly

Unfurl me wildly

Until we lay

On the same side

For at least the last time

I slide

Down the spine of a skeletal

snake - come on

shake me

until I can no longer breathe

I know that here

you have just been

because the kettle

 Is still burning

And that gentle simmering

Summons

What can I return?

I have time no more

Only vain and skin

And untwist that!

Until my upper lip

Can no longer be licked

And my lung cannot transform

The sweetened air of a peeled orange

Reach for me

Plunder fire

From an unkept ocean

For though we near

Towards submergence

I am not yet done
