The Crossroads

And before you know it, you’re standing there, aware that you’re at the crossroads, wondering which way to turn and helplessly looking for a sign. Red light, green light, just decide!

“Excuse me sir, do you know the way to…”.

But you have no idea of exactly where you are going. Only a feeling, an inexplicable vision of the person you want to become and a niggling fever against all that you don’t.

A friend arrives at the junction, pointing their fingers and shrugging. Are they dancing? Instead you look up, what’s there?

The sun is rising behind the tower blocks. Blazing. Burning. Brilliant. The shining road! And you realise then that there’s no need to turn, only continue ahead upon the warm and blinding road of sunlight.
