About Lockatong
Lockatong Creek Farms is
located in Kingwood Township, NJ and was purchased in 1999 by Jim and Pam
Johnson. The farm is the home grounds of the Amwell Valley Hounds Pony Club
(AVHPC), and the Amwell Valley Hounds Pony Club Horse Trials. AVHPC is a
not-for-profit organization for children from age 5 to 25 devoted to teaching
horsemanship and sportsmanship.
Facilities
Lockatong Creek Farm is located
on 68 acres of woods, streams and fields. The facilities include 20 stalls in
two barns, an indoor arena, an 80 by 210 sand ring, a 1.2 acre sand ring with
stadium jumps, over 50 cross country jumps at four levels, and trails.
Amwell Valley Horse Trials
Starting in the year 2000
Amwell Valley Hounds Pony Club has hosted a USEA reconized horse trials at the
farm with great success. The Trials are usually held the second week in July
and include a Beginner Novice, Novice & Training division.

Directions
From Flemington go west on Rt.
12 eight miles to the stop light at Baptistown. Turn left on Rt. 519 and go
south 4 miles to Rt. 651. Turn right on Rt. 651 and go 1/2 mile to the driveway
on the right with the Lockatong Creek Farm sign. Take the driveway all the way
back to the barns and park nose in.
From the south go north on Rt.
29 (River Road) to just north of Stockton. Turn right on Rt. 519 north and go 5
1/2 miles to Rt. 651 on the left. Turn left on Rt. 651 and go 1/2 mile to the
Lockatong Creek Farm sign on the right. Take the driveway all the way back to
the barns and park nose in.
From I 95 and Rt. 31 go north
into the village of Ringoes. Take the left hand fork onto Rt. 579 , and make
the first left turn after the Black River and Western railroad bridge onto
Rosemont-Ringoes Road. Follow this road through the blinking light in
Sergeantsville, straight through the covered bridge and to the stop sign by the
Rosemont Cafe. Turn right on Rt. 519 and go 3 1/2 miles to Rt. 651 on the left.
Turn left on Rt. 651 and go 1/2 mile to the Lockatong Creek Farm sign on the
right. Take the dirveway all the way back to the barns and park nose in.
