Synopsis

Cheseborough is taking Mark's class on a field trip to the carnival. Chuck is on a diet and already suffering from withdrawals. He steals another kid's box of donuts but Cheseborough catches him and confiscates the box. Mark tells his friend to be strong.

At the Thunder Tower, Sparx and Ace are playing chess. Bored of the game, Sparx is throwing the pieces in the air and shooting them with her sword. Ace suggests checkers.

At the carnival, Duff in a clown suit greets the class with Huckleberry (the Rat disguised as a dummy) which is Duff's attempt to make the carnival more 'family friendly'. However, Huckleberry just comes across as plain freaky. Duff ends up gagging him to stop him attacking Wayne. Mark is hoping to get back together with Samantha, who is hanging out with Brett.

Anvil shows up at the Thunder Tower and trashes the transformer. Ace and Sparx take him down but now they need to figure out how to fix the broken transformer.

Back at the Carnival, Mark has a brief chat with Samantha and then his phone rings. He leaves to answer it, which annoys Samantha. It's Ace, filling Mark in on the transformer situation. Sam heads off with Brett and Heather, leaving Mark behind.

Lord Fear and Staff Head are planning to lure Ace to the carnival and take him out while he cannot use the transformer to power up.

Duff attempts to sell some candy to Chuck but Huckleberry snatches it from him. Mark arrives just in time to stop Chuck from grabbing the candy from Huckleberry. Huckleberry gloats over his prize.

At the Thunder Tower, the checkers game has been forgotten as Ace is still trying to fix the transformer. Sparx is bored and Ace tells her to go for a fly over the carnival but warns her to stay out of trouble. Sparx happily leaves.

After Lord Fear frightens two boys, Sparx shows up. She warns him to stay away from Mark and they fight. Staff Head shoots Sparx from behind.

Heather witnesses Huckleberry telling Duff that he's stumping Huckleberry's creativity and that he's not Duff's dummy. He's his own dummy. Duff attempts to strangle Huckleberry. She joins Brett and Sam. Sam tells Brett and Heather to go check out the Fun House without her. Mark joins them and Brett and Heather leave. They head off to a quiet place to talk.

Chuck is walking through the carnival and is finding it hard to keep to his diet. Meanwhile, Staff Head traps Brett and Heather in the Fun House.

Ace fixes the transformer and Brett and Heather realize that they are trapped. They start yelling for help. Duff keeps Cheseborough out of the way by putting him on a very fast ride. He hurries off in pursuit of Huckleberry who has stolen some fairy floss.

Sam and Mark, who are trying to patch things up, hear their classmates yelling for help. Ace arrives to help Sparx and she tries to warn him that it's a trap but he ignores her and Lord Fear shoots at them. Duff is still chasing Huckleberry. Sam goes to help her classmates and Mark, seeing Lord Fear and Staff Head going by, heads off to help Ace and Sparx.

After Mark gets rid of Lord Fear and Staff Head by using one of the rides to knock them out, Ace uses a lightning bolt to stop Cheseborough's ride. Sparx gives Ace a ride back to the Thunder Tower. Sam frees the class by kicking the door in and is an instant hero. Cheseborough announces to the class that they are leaving. The Rat jumps up and down on the dummy costume. Chuck is happy that he has lasted one whole day without candy. Sam saves a seat on the bus for Mark. Lord Fear takes his anger out on Duff.
