Greetings all, On the request of Lady Kaylin (the Regent of Shrouding Mist), I have been asked to teach a leather working class. Since this is a large subject, I have decided to devote an entire day to that subject for those that are interested. The class will be May 10th, at my home (where all the tools are....) and will start at 1:00pm.
Subjects covered -
The class will focus on four projects with an introduction -
2) A riveted Pouch
3) A Laced folding knife belt pouch
4) A lock stitch joined book cover
5) A Saddle stitched leather knife sheath I anticipate that this class will take about 5 hours. Everyone attending will get a chance to try out the different techniques I will be teaching. If there is interest, I will also demonstrate some other things such as Wax hardening leather and creating Fringe and lacing with a stripping tool
What I will not be teaching - While everyone will have a chance to try out the things I am teaching, if you want to actually do one of the four projects with me, contact me and I will tell you what you will need to bring. After the class, we will be having a potluck dinner. Please bring something to share (bring a dish that will serve at least five people). I will provide utensils, paper plates and cups. Please RSVP for this so that we have some idea how many will be attending. I am making up some aids for the class and if I have an idea how many will be here, it would help me determine how many pieces to make up. Directions to our house - >From the North -
>From I-5, take the Mounts Road Exit (116). Turn Left at the top of the Exit
and head back over the highway. Follow Mounts Road till you cross the river
and enter Nisqually. You will pass a small Texaco station on your right and
a concrete plant on your left. About 200 yards past the concrete plant,
there will be a road that "y"'s off to the left. That is Reservation Road.
Turn onto Reservation Road and to the end. Turn left onto Highway
510. Take the first right onto Old Yelm Highway. About 2 miles down, turn
right onto Rehklau Rd. Avalon Go ahead and run... You will just die tired
