Storyline: Serena Dewan (Amisha Patel) is the much adored daughter of industrialist Vivek Dewan (Gulshan Grover) . Serena is on the verge of achieving stardom in the pop-world, when a story breaks out that she is actually an adoted child. Jai (Jimmy Shergill) a struggling journalist in Adharsh Times breaks the story. Serena confronts Jai and sues him but realises that Jai was correct when she overhears her father expressing his fears about Serena finding the truth. Serena takes it real hard and now wants to find the identity of her real mother. She decides to go and meet the priest who knows the mother. Jai in the meanwhile follows her all the way. He wants her to withdraw the case. They both decide to reach an agreement. He helps her find her mother and she withdraws the case. Serena meets Sr.Namrata (Nafisa Ali) who for some reason refuses to identify the child who was in her care twenty years ago. It turns out that Sr.Namrata is her real mother who rejects her when she confronts her. But later relents and tells her daughter the real story of her birth. Sr.Namrata in her youth was a social worker, who gets raped by Commissioner Prashanth Marwah (Ehsaan Khan) for trying to stop him from harassing the innocents in his hunt for terrorists. Serena is not only shocked by the circumstances of her birth, but is enraged that the perpetrator is on the loose, and enjoys a high status in society. The commissioner is a family friend, and she decides to expose the distinguished gentleman whatever happens. But her mother refuses to aid her on the grounds that she no longer has it in her to fight him or the world. At such a time only Jai is Serena’s source of strength. Serena’s adopted father wants to protect his daughter from harm and tries to stop her from her mission, but in vain. Eventually Serena gets what she wants, exposes the man and gets her mother her long-delayed justice.
