| Amisha's Designer- Neeta Lulla & the 'Roopam' fashion store create a ramp-age in the world of fashion! |
|
What would one expect when the biggest fashion house in the city, and the most top-notch designer in Tinsel Ville…strike their creative brilliance together. The outcome is nothing but an innovative, incomparable breakthrough. And isn’t fashion something that’s forever evolving…changing it’s hues to blend with time, mindsets, habits and tastes. This 40-year old store has taken the creative plunge and stretched its prowess from being just a fashion house to being the centre stage of Indian fashion. Roopam launched ‘Ramp ‘n’ Rack’, a revolutionary concept in the fashion arena – a well designed fashion venue to give fashion designers, fashion students, product launches, new collections, choreographers, fashion or photo shoots the perfect platform. At R-n-R designers can showcase their garments in an exclusive setting with state-of-art lighting from New York, and resounding music channelled through EV and Dynacord components to complement the showing. A separate green room, seating arrangements for 150 guests and a discreet bar area makes this an outstanding establishment. To mark the extravagant launch of R ‘n’ R, Roopam showcased the designs of Neeta Lulla- Bollywood’s leading designer, at a fashion show on 23rd Feb, Saturday. For the first time in 15 years, Neeta Lulla, who is also Roopam’s in-house designer, showcased a mainstream bridal line. There was an exquisite blending of colours and embroideries inspired from various parts of India - Banaras, Bengal, Lucknow etc. Colours were aesthetically selected on the basis of the five elements of nature – earth, wind, fire, water, air and space bringing them all together as one super natural force which is ‘Om’. And to give Neeta a big round of applause were a bevy of beauties from tinsel town – Am isha Patel (with mother Asha Patel and brother Ashmit), Amrita Arora, Hrishita Bhatt and Isha Koppikar. Subhash Ghai walked in a wee bit late, so he was only there to say the bye–byes’ to the celebrated guests out there. Besides, there were big-wigs from the corporate world, business heads and CEO’s present to add more glory to the occasion. Neeta called on stage her Bollywood buddies and thanked them for being there; also on her thank-list was a special mention for Aishwarya Rai and Juhi Chawla.Let’s wish the thinking cells of this newfound concept – Neeta Lulla & Viren Shah (proprietor of Roopam & Roop Milan) great luck…and hope the R-n-R forever flaunts the best of ‘B-n-B babes on its sizzling ramp. Well, we only mean all ‘bold-n-beautiful babes of tinsel town, okay! courtesy filmfare |
