Agenda
of the
FAI Aeromodelling Commission meeting
Held in Lausanne, Switzerland
on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 March 2005
RESUME OF THE AGENDA
VOLUME F2 - CONTROL LINE
Section 4c - Model Aircraft
Part Four - Technical Regulations for Control Line Contests
The F2 Subcommittee has two items referred or remaining from the March 2004
Plenary Meeting of the CIAM. These items have been revised or reversed by the
subcommittee in the interim and will now need to be placed on the Agenda for the
March 2005 Plenary Meeting for approval by vote of the Plenary. The items are:
1) In Volume F2 – Control Line, Section F2B – Aerobatic Model Aircraft, the Plenary
approved delay of voting on a revision of the entire section including the Judges Guide,
which is Annex 4B. The section, beginning with paragraph 4.2.1, is revised. See
ANNEX 11.
Reason
: This revision was to be presented at the March 2004 Plenary but discussionwas ongoing and a delay in presentation until the forthcoming March 2005 Plenary was
approved. The revision is now prepared for presentation.
2) In Volume F2 – Control Line, Section F2C, Team Racing, the Plenary approved an
increase in line diameter for both solid and stranded control lines for the event, and
additionally approved a concomitant increase in the pull test. These descriptions occur
in paragraph 4.3.5 b) Control System. As a result of subsequent tests conducted in the
field, both increases have been deemed unsafe, inappropriate to accomplish their
original stated purpose, and unacceptable to control line competitors. In May 2004, the
Bureau agreed to postpone implementation of any change pending Plenary approval of
reversal of the changes. Through a series of discussions and voting by the
subcommittee, both changes have been reversed. Therefore paragraph 4.3.5 b is
unchanged from its present written status in the published 2004 Sporting Code. The
only request of the F2 Subcommittee is for approval of NO CHANGE in paragraph
4.3.5 b.
Reason: As stated above, the original changes were found to be unsafe and
unacceptable.
