Breading chocobo is something you'll need to take your time with sometimes this can take over a week to do. anyway i hope this information helps ^__^ have fun!!
So how do you know if its a good or bad chocobo, you don't you have to go to choco billy. he'll say
to get a Mountain or River Chocobo, you need to breed either a Great Chocobo with another Great Chocobo or a Good Chocobo with a Great Chocobo. The higher their class is, the better chance you'll get a special Chocobo (raise their class in Gold Saucer Chocobo racing). You need a carob nut to mate them with(these can be found outside of the chocobo mage's house in the green bit, the chocobo mage's house is directly up from the bone village and to the west a little bit, u may also want to by some of the Sylkis Greens he sells for 5000 gil these are very important because they put stamina, speed and intelligence up a lot),with any luck you should have your own baby green or blue chocobo. if not just reset and try again. ^__^
Now to get a blue/green chocobo you have to get the opposite colour, get the moutian\river choco up to s class and mate the two same chocobos as you did to get the blue/green chocobo. (i recomend you save before doing this) mate and you need to get the diffrent colour of chocobo in the the diffrent gender. but you'll need to use the carob nut again! and with any luck you should have a chocobo in the diffrent gender and the diffrent sex.
Now to get the black chocobo. this isn't much of a challenge the worst that can happen is that you can get another blue or green one. first all you have to do is get the green and blue chocobo up to S class. then mate (save first) with the carob nut (you guessed it another one!) . and if your really lucky you'll have a black chocobo
And last but not least the gold chocobo, now get a wonderful chocobo, race the black and wonderful one up to S class (dont worry thats ALMOST all the racing done) then find a zeio nut (located on goblin island! oh and remember to learn enemy skill goblin punch while you're there!) and mate. (warning you will not get this first time if you do you are lucky!!!! so save it!) and then you'll have the GOLD CHOCOBO!!!!!!
have a great time with the gold chocobo. and make sure you get KOR (knights of the round) in the circled island on the top corner of the map!
