Updates

~October 13th, 2008~
I got another rant up. I'm sure someone out there will hate me for it, but it adds proof, I think. XD Also, I'm sure it gives off the wrong idea at the end, which is probably a good thing. It'll make great fuel for a discussion on the subject which I fully welcome. Either way, I hope everyone enjoys it.

Since the last time I said I would post a rant and then was gone for a year and a half, I decided, just in case, I'm posting something. I don't know if I'll get back to my frequency when I started this whole thing, but at least I can say that my updates don't consist of me just saying that I'll update. XD I hope you enjoy!

Wow, I don't even want to think about how much time has gone by since I've updated (and especially since I last posted a rant). A lot has changed the past year and a half. I've been spending the past couple months trying to remember my passwords. (Yahoo! doesn't give an alternate option if you've forgotten your password and your security answer even if you remember everything else.) But now that I remember it (and wrote it down just in case!), I can get back on track. Of course, I should mention that I'm in school now plus work, so, as the past has proven, don't expect too much. However, I have no excuses as to why I can't make an occasional update.

Sadly, 2006 went by without even just one rant. I'll be sure to fix that in time. I've gone through and fixed up the bits and pieces of the site that got messed up. I'll be looking into working on the boards here in a bit.

Looks like I didn't get around to putting up that rant I said I would before I leave. Sorry about that. I'll have plenty more after I get done training.

I changed the "About Me" page. The rant that was there before is still there for those who care to read it. However, before that, you can now find a much more open (though much shorter) statement from me. The other day, I was listening to Wicked Podcast and they were talking to a Pagan in the military. Listening to him speak, I came to the conclusion that I have no need to fear my religious community. The ones who will be important to me will understand (or will at least listen to my answers to their questions so that they can). Those who don't understand, well, they'll just prove themselves to be more closed-minded than they claim. So from now on, I see no reason to hide my choice of being in the military from those in my religious community.

I heard something today and got to ranting about it. I meant to stop after I stated my "conclusion" on the issue, but the next thing I knew I kept on going. Hopefully that bit won't offend anyone, but I'm sure the thing as a whole is bound to offend someone anyway. Especially if saying "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" is so offensive that people need to be sued for it. Oh well, I hope you enjoy it either way.

I'm not sure if my rant from yesterday will evolve into a series, but it did inspire another one for today. Be sure to check it out. I made the front page a bit more "professional" I guess you could call it. It was so relaxed and simple before with such short messages that I decided it was time for something a bit more formal to get the point of the site across. I also changed the way I presented the rants. Rather than simply the date, I now list them as the title of the rant and the date. I figured, as time goes on, people would start with the newer rants and not read the older ones even though they say quite a bit if they don't at least get a title as a sort of overview. Either way, you'll get an idea of what the rant is about before you even click the link now.

I added a new rant. Hopefully it will evolve into a little series of rants. I've been slow to get to them lately, so that would be particularly nice. There's also more boards on the forums. There's a new links page, but only a few links so far. Not too much else today. Enjoy!

I added another rant. Really it's more of a simple discussion of terms and history. By simple I mean plain and short, of course. The message boards are looking a wee bit better, though they need more work. I'm a little too lazy to get to the details of it right now.
I went back up to MEPS Wednesday for my height and weight check. I would have left for bootcamp on the 15th, but the woman who does the measurements got my height wrong again. You'd think if everyone but her were getting 62 inches the person who makes the final call would investigate the issue properly by doing it himself. Instead he gets someone else to do it, they get 62, so he has the woman do it in front of him. He watched how she did it and managed to get 61 and still believed her over everyone else! I've been 62 inches for about five years now. So needless to say, it's going to be just a few more weeks. Hopefully next time that woman will be off on vacation or something. What she deserves is to not be in charge of taking measurements when she doesn't know how to do it right.
