VINNIE:
Now lets make one thing clear. I didn’t trust Striker any further than I could throw him. But this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Well not only that but a once in history opportunity. If we pulled this off everyone in history would want to copy off of the Partenios. I could see the headlines now, “4th NATIONAL BANK ROBBED!!! NO ONE CAPTURED.” Now eventually they could find us, drag us to court for six or seven months. But there’s no way they could get enough evidence to nail us. The only way to stop us would be to catch us. Well if we didn’t plan this right, they would catch us. There were a lot of things that could go wrong. Maybe that’s why I was letting it be the Striker show for right now. No way in hell am I gonna show him my hand before I see his. Now I know as long as I look enthusiastic about this whole thing Striker will assume I’m in 100%. He wouldn’t think twice about one of my boys watching his every move. That was Joey’s job. But as for Vicky or “Margaret Cotton”, well lets just say she was not happy. “WHAT THE HELL IS THIS ABOMONATION!” I heard from down the hall. I sighed I knew she was referring to the office dress she was required to wear at the bank. I knew she was upset about it, it wasn’t the pinstriped Armani suits we were used to. “VINNIE I’M GONNA KILLL YOU!” I started to make my way out the door. On the way out I saw Striker again. “Striker”, I spat, “there are a lot of things I can put up with but you are allowed in this house. You of all people should know this.” He knew the history of this house. He knew he should not be in our fucking house. Now I can put up with a lot of shit. I like to believe that I am a patient person, but he was really pushing it. Striker is a cocky little shit though. He just smiled at me and held his hands up in surrender. “Calm down Vinnie, that was a long time ago.” ”You got two minutes before everything is off!” I said staring Striker down. “GET THE FUCK OUT!” Striker smiled and walked out the door but not before dropping the tan file on the table, “this is all the background information for Margaret Cotton.” With that Striker left. and then Vicky came out of the bathroom in her little skirt. It was so surreal. It wasn’t as if my sister was ugly, quite the opposite. She looked respectable and reasonable. It was what my sister might have become if she wasn’t one of us. If she wasn’t a Partenio. Not that I’m regretting her as my sister. It was just maybe if she had a normal life. I love my sister very much and I have to say I wonder what if she actually was a normal girl. Would she have a normal life? A normal job? A normal husband? Maybe a happier life. “Hello! Earth to Vinnie, you alive?” Vicky asked me waving her hand in front of my face. “What is it?” I asked shaking the cobwebs from my head. “What the hell is up with this! WHY CANT I WEAR MY DAMN PINSTRIPED SUIT?!” she screamed at me. I smirked. “Come on Vicky it ain’t that bad,” I replied “The hell it isn’t! This is just a new reason to kill Striker.” “You keep a head on those little shoulders of yours for right now, Vicky,” I said, “We need to play this very calmly and very cool otherwise we’re gonna get busted.” “Striker is not getting out of this job Vinnie, we can’t let him walk again.” “We didn’t exactly let him walk last time either,” I said sitting down. “If you recall you had took care of his walking for the day.” “Yeah well I should have finished it,” Vicky said “Don’t talk like that Vicky, you don’t like killing anymore than I do.” “Your right I don’t like to do it,” Vicky said, “but let me tell you as a Partenio it’s my duty.” “You ever think if maybe you weren’t a Partenio?” I nearly shouted back. It looked as if Vicky’s heart broke in two when I looked into her eyes. “What are you saying? You don’t want me as your sister?” “Vicky, no I di-” I began before I got slapped across the face ”YOU FUCKIN’ ASSHOLE!”she shouted at me, “GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY FACE! AND REMEMBER, LIKE IT OR NOT YOU’RE FUCKIN’ STUCK WITH ME!!” I walked out, I would never want to get rid of her, but I knew I needed to get out of her way. |
