Glastonbury Town

In Magdelene Street, opposite the Abbey ruins, is Magdalene Close. The picture shows the entrance to the small chapel which served nearby almshouses, which were still preserved last time I was there
After the destruction of the Abbey, local people used much of the stone in house building. The figure of the lamb with cross above this house in Chilkwell Street has since been returned, I have been told Return to Glastonbury Index
