Requirements, Responsibilities and Authority
Basic Instructor (Saligan Taga Pagturo)
- Certification Requirements
- This certification level has been established for those practitioners
having a desire to instruct Modern Arnis and who have a minimum of 18 months
of technical training and experience. The practitioner must have shown
dedication to the study of Modern Arnis, have attained a minimum technical
rank of Brown Belt 1st Degree (Antas Pito) and have been recommended by
a certified Modern Arnis Black Belt Instructor holding a minimum rank of
Advanced Instructor in order to be considered as a candidate for certification.
The candidate must be examined by the American Modern Arnis Associates'
Senior Teacher who will be a member of an optional three (3) person Black
Belt Examination Board, not to include the candidate's instructor. The
candidate will be expected to have a sound understanding of and the ability
to effectively apply and explain such fundamental concepts, principles
and philosophies as required for the Brown Belt 1st Degree technical level.
Certification can only be granted by the American Modern Arnis Associates'
Senior Teacher
- Responsibilities and Authority
- Basic Instructor certification is intended to give the holder the opportunity
to instruct the basics of Modern Arnis and to develop/refine his/her instructional
skills under the direction and guidance of a certified Modern Arnis Black
Belt Instructor holding a minimum rank of Advanced Instructor. A Basic
Instructor may be put in charge of a class at the discretion of the supervising
instructor. A Basic Instructor is not authorized to promote students or
issue rank in the American Modern Arnis Associates, but may recommend,
subject to the approval of the supervising Black Belt Instructor, students
for promotion up to the level of Green Belt 1st Degree.
