I created this recipe because I wanted a tasty, heart healthy, and economical sandwich spread.
1 can Goya black beans, well mashed with the liquid | a few dashes of chili lime sauce |
3 T lemon juice | about 2 T taco sauce (I use Ortega medium) |
1-2 cloves minced garlic | enough instant mashed potatoes to make it smooth and less liquidy |
This recipe is very simple. Mash the beans with the liquid in the can well with a potato masher, leaving no whole beans (partial beans are expected). Add the other ingredients except the instant potatoes and mix well. Gradually add the instant mashed potatoes, being sure to stir it in well, until the spread is at a spreadable consistancy, not too stiff, not too watery.
