Psychsoc Takes Pope

THE 1998 STUDENT AWARDS culminated
last Feb.7 with the Psychological Society (PsychSoc) as the awardee of the
Pope Leo XIII Communitarian Award held at the
Education Auditorium. The yearly-held recognition
are given to honor students and local
organizations for their distinguished
performances for the year. The distinction is given
to PsychSoc for its outstanding performance in
organizing their activities for the school year.
BS Psych Kristine Lorraine Chan
was the Colleges awardee for the
Rectors Academic Award for consistently
achieving high grades. Chan who is tentatively a
candidate for magna cum laude bested Accelerated Biology student Brian
Christopher Ang and Rommel Zabala, also of Psych.
Student Council President Annaliza Lopez received the Quezon
Leadership Award, who had shown singular ability
to organize activities. There was no recipient
for the Benavides Achievement Award, which is a
tribute to a student with a significant
individual performance in social involvement and
community service. The highest distinction, the
Aquinas Award, which is given to a student who
gets all three individual awards, had no
recipient this year.
