UST in Tagisan Dorothy Jeanne Fronteras

THEY SAY that it is always better
the second time around. This proved to be true as three Psychology students of the UST
College of Science battled wits with other
schools and grabbed second place during the
annual Tagisan ng Talino Interschool Psychology
Quiz contest held last Feb. 28 at the Benavides
Auditorium of the UST Pay High School.
The Psych
Federation, a nationwide group of psychology
students from different universities, sponsored
the event. UST landed fourth place during last
years Tagisan ng Talino. St. Paul
College-Manila emerged as champion during the
said event.
This years
contest told of a different story. Far Eastern
University (FEU) rose as the victorious winner of
the contest, defeating 12 other opponents,
including UST, garnering a total of 75 points.
UST took second place, ten points short, while
Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP)
settled for third spot with 55 points.
USTs
representatives for this year were Sheryl Lee Ang
of 2B Psych, Nelia Theresa Rodriguez of 3A, and
Mary Lao of 4B. The three representatives were
the previous winners of the Psych Quiz Finals
last Nov. 2 held at the same venue hosted by the Psychological Society (Psychsoc).
Other schools
which participated this year were Ateneo de
Manila, Philippine Christian University,
University of the Philippines-Diliman, St. Paul
College-Manila, University of the East,
Philippine Normal University, St. Paul
College-Quezon City, Centro Escolar University,
National Teachers College and Central Colleges of
the Philippines.
