THE RED CROSS YOUTH COUNCIL (RCYC) observed the AIDS
Awareness Day last Dec. 2, with a fund raising
and exhibit to support the worldwide celebrations
of AIDS information campaign. The said activity
organized by RCYC aimed to educate and inform the
students about AIDS, its harmful effects and
different measures for its prevention. As part of
the celebration, students and professors were
requested to pin on red ribbons as signs of their
protest against this worldwide disease and to
show support to the AIDS awareness campaign. The
commemorative ribbons were supplied by the
Department of Health (DOH). RCYC also accepted
donations from the students, professors and some
concerned citizens that amounted to almost P4000,
which will be used for their up-coming activities
such as medical and dental missions and other
outreach projects.
