iLiKETRAiNS is a terrible name for this band. I command them to change it! All right then. But it's just so inappropriate. iLiKETRAiNS showcase a black heart encased in a dark melody on this limited edition 7" single. Divided into two separate parts, "BEFORETHECURTAiNSCLOSE" immediately brings to mind Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, who are clearly a great influence on the band. Like the Bad Seeds, iLiKETRAiNS have a full, almost orchestral sound. Singer Dave (of course his name is Dave) uses his wonderfully strong deep voice to excellent effect, while the band as a whole work in perfect harmony to create the two mini-epics that make up this single.

Showing a grasp of power and poise that few bands these days understand, iLiKETRAiNS hit you with a triumphant wall of sound. After an age of the same stop-start garage rock and tedious whining boys with acoustic guitars, this acts as a refreshing breath of fresh air.

The single comes out on Dance To The Radio on July 4th, and if you like your music to be as dark as your soul, I'd suggest picking it up. But seriously, guys, that name. Did you lose a bet, or something?
