:: Basic Military Training Centre ::

The 3 months of culture transformation also meant the beginning of 2 years and 4 months of heavy regimentation and the temporary end of civil livelihood. Too many friends were made. Most were lost.

:: School of Infantry Specialists ::

The irritating 5 month course that would appoint us infantry specialists was also the beginning of the most traumatizing phase of our service in the military. The course was concluded with a 3 week training/4 days recreation,  in Taiwan(ROC) and  finally a parade where parents innocently affix the dreaded 3 stripes onto our uniforms.
