The Secret Lives of Benny Hinn

The Secret Lives of Benny Hinn

“Benny!” Co-pilot Kenneth Copeland screamed. “What’ll I do? I’ve lost the #2 and #4 engines! We’re losing altitude fast. If I don’t make it, tell Gloria I love her, and I regret not buying that twelve million dollar mansion like yours.”

Benny looked at the altimeter, 500 feet and dropping. The plane was seconds from impact.

“Easy Ken, let me take over.”
Captain Benny Hinn always wondered how Copeland would react during an actual air emergency. The fire in the two engines was proving Ken couldn’t handle the pressure. Benny reached over the console, armed the switch for the fire extinguishers, and stabbed at the button to release the carbon dioxide gas. His eyes quickly scanned the gauges, “Fire’s out. The engine’s temperatures are dropping!”

The sound of a young girls voice hadn’t quite interrupted the fog of another of his daydream.
“Daddy, you always said the kids that listen to that kind of music get their tongue and belly buttons pierced. Can I change the station this time? Please Daddy, please? Daddy? Are you listening to me, or is God talking to you again? You know what Mommy said about you listening to God while you’re driving.”

Startled, Benny allowed the fantasy to dissolve. Reality once again set in, reminding him he was driving his youngest daughter to school. He cocked his head sideways, “Yes Lord, I hear you. What’s that Lord? You know whatever you tell me I’ll do. Say what? Tell Eleashe her grades in spelling need improvement? For her to try harder? Yes Lord, I’ll tell her.” He blinked his eyes, then looked over at his nine year old and started to speak.

Her small hand came up, “I know, I know, I heard what God told you. I’m trying Daddy, but I get confused. There’s too many rules to remember. ‘i’ before ‘e’ ‘cept after ‘c’--”

Benny looked out the windscreen of the bridge. It was going to be another day of rough sea.

“Captain Hinn, Sir!” The first mate saluted. “Radar shows an iceberg dead ahead! 1000 yards!”

“Turn hard to port, 60 degrees, left full rudder!” commanded Captain Benjamin Hinn of the ocean liner U.S.S. Lexus.

“Sir, the wheel is jammed, she’d not responding!”

Captain Hinn pushed the boatswain aside and grabbed the ship’s wheel. Every muscle tensed as he pulled with all his strength.

“500 yards, Sir!”

He shifted his weight trying to get more leverage…
There! It was beginning to move, but not enough.

“200 yards, Sir!”

He gripped the wheel tighter, straining his bulging muscles with one thought on his mind. The lives of his passengers and crew were once again depending on him--

“Daddy, you turned the wrong way again, school is that way!”

Benny blinked several times, “Er..yes Lord, I’ll tell her what you showed me. You know I will.”
“Eleashe, Honey, God gave me a vision. He showed me some impoverished children in another part of the world. They’ll never have a chance to attend school. God said you’re blessed to be able to get a good education, but you have to apply yourself. Understand?”

A cell phone chimed. Benny felt at his belt, then remembered he’d left it on the dining room table. Well, maybe it was there, he couldn’t remember…

“It’s mine, Daddy. Yours has the theme song you wrote, How Great Thou Are, remember?”
Eleashe dug thru her knack sack, finding it on the sixth ring.
“Hello? Hi, mommy! No, I’m not at school yet. Daddy’s been listening to God while driving, and we got lost again. Uh-huh… Uh-huh… Okay, I’ll tell him… Love you, too.”
“Mommy said to remind you to pick up your suits at the dry cleaners, and you have a miracle conference Friday in Atlanta, and to stop at the bank to get some cash. Daddy, are you listening? You just passed my school! Daddy?”
