Our Stud is
nestled in a beautiful valley 2 ½ hours west of Sydney NSW, near the
quaint historical village of Rylstone.
Andrew & I have been breeding Miniatures Horses since 1983. After extensively searching Australia, we eventually found a stunning herd of little horses that had been bred down from Welsh Mountain Ponies for many years prior and we decided this would be the foundation of our miniature horses.
We then went about selecting stallions that would compliment these mares with
their beautiful welsh traits & continued to breed for quality, small, refined
animals with extreme movement and lovely natures, with our ultimate goal being
to have a sound, horse type herd of miniatures that could produce horses that
would excel in the show ring in halter & performance classes.
After years of breeding we now have great, great, grand progeny from our original mares, which are proving themselves in the show ring in both halter & performance classes.
We have now
arrived at the point where we can fulfil our other goal, without compromising
quality, & that is to add spots to our little equines.
Having in the past bred Palouse Ponies & always having admired all the different
patterns one can get in Appaloosa’s. We could’t wait to get to this
stage in our breeding program, where we could produce the ultimate miniature
palouse or spotted horses.
To achieve this we are using our two few spot stallions, Alqueria Bolero, which we bred 14 years ago, and a newer addition a few spot stallion, Kotta Park Blizzard, who is a grandson of the renowned Happy Appy & great grandson of the well talked about Orion-Light Van’t Huttenest.
