I am a 16 year old girl born and raised in the city of Chicago. My family is a small group of three: my mother, my younger sister and me. My father left us when I was 3 years old. That became my motivation to reach my goals. I want to become somebody once i'm older so I can prove to my father that I was capable to do everything with out him. So in order to do that I am doing my best in high school. I already take honor and AP classes and I plan to take more for the rest of my two years in high school. I want to go to and graduate from college, specifically at the University of Santa Barbra in California.
I play a lot of sports, but my current favorite is basketball. So far in high school I've been part of the girls basketball and track & field team. I was the point guard for basketball and a sprinter in track. I've heard girls rugby will be available soon and I can't wait for that to start.
Whenever I have free time and i'm not doing any school work or sports, I like to read, I wouldn't call myself a huge book freak but I do get really excited about books. Some of my favorite books include Copper Sun by Sharon Draper, Slated by Teri Terry, and The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. I also draw whenever I can. I guess I do a little bit of everything.
Marine Biology
Marine Biology
Iv'e had interest in marine life since I was 12. I would watch documentaries about marine biology and tell myself that that's what I want to do when i'm older. I love how there are so many distinct organisms living together; from the tiniest Pink eye Goby to the biggest Blue Whale. There are so many reasons to love the ocean, it's were life first occured. The ocean is harder to explore than space and I want to contribute to help discover the ocean's wonders and be with the organisms in it.
