A graduate in painting
and mural processes at the Escuela Massana of Barcelona, she
also trained in mural painting, specialising in al fresco work
at the international school of contemporary mural painting of the Diputación
Provincial de Barcelona.
She was
also a participant in the plastic arts experimental workshop known as
the "Aula Oberta", a nursery of ideas and artists who
are just starting out, set up by some of the most advanced teachers
from the Escuela Massana. A multitude of actions concerning the
plastic arts came about as a result of this workshop. This work was
done as a "break" from the educational space and time at the
school and the participants were completely free to choose their materials
and work concepts. A group example of the work arising from this workshop
can be seen at "La Capella", where there is a volumetric
piece suspended occupying 200 x 200, made in different materials such
as wood trunks and cut wood, glass, etc., totally sculptural in concept.
She has
followed specific courses on photography and laboratory work at the
Spectrum -Canon and the Centro de la Imagen in Barcelona,
as well as teaching drawing and painting and working as a specialist
in the field of plastic expression for private schools.
She received
a special grant from the Belles Arts section of the Ministry of Culture
for the project "The Object", based on the study and execution
of a series of pieces in which volume is involved but with a more poetical
than purely pictorial treatment. A number of pieces resulted from this
project, of which a small series of four are kept as part of the artistic
collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid.

She has
also provided drawings and illustrations for publications such as the
magazine Lateral, national newspapers such as La Vanguardia,
El País and El Observador and the magazine Woman,
as well as photographic illustrations and design. She has also worked
as a painter-artist for the publishers Parramón, for many years also
collaborating as an illustrator on several of the firm's collections.
She has
also designed and created various shop window displays for different
companies and occasionally designs and creates fashion stands for trade
fairs such as the Salón Gaudí fashion show. She has
also worked in the world of advertising and cinema, creating atmospheres,
working for various production houses and designing costumes for a film
by Ricart Reguant. She has also worked with the props for the Liceo
opera house from time to time.
She is
part of a group of artists created around the e designer Javier Mariscal
and the architect Alfredo Arribas, established to produce different
sculptures for the project created by these two people for the theme
park Ten Bosh in Japan. The "Acuarinto" project is
made up of various sections and stages, but her collaboration is specifically
concerned with making various sculptural pieces in polycarbonate polyester
resin and other materials.
At the
same time as pursuing her artistic qualification at the Escuela Massana,
she also worked as a textile and print designer for a leading Italian
firm. Having learned the techniques involved and realising the response
her drawings were getting outside Barcelona (and especially outside
Spain), she decided to take the risk and go independent, creating her
own textile design studio under the name of "Estudio Tiza".
Currently,
her artistic activity is more centred on the creation of more personal
work and pieces destined for her exhibitions.
Several
of her pieces are in held in private collections.
