1. PAKISTAN AND THE MODERN WORLD.

Liaquat Ali Khan was the first Prime Minister of Pakistan. He visited U.S.A. in 1950 to introduce Pakistan. He delivered a speech at Kansas University. He explained the ideology of Pakistan and its position. Liaquat Ali Khan said that Pakistan came in to existence on 14th August 1947. The demand for Pakistan was made to safeguard the interests of the Muslims of India. The Muslims were in minority while Hindus were in majority. When India was going to win freedom, the Muslims realized that even after getting their freedom. They would have to live as political minority. They would be at the mercy of Hindus. So they demanded a separate country.

In was not only the difference of religion but there were some other differences which separated the Muslims from the Hindus. The Hindus believed in the caste system while the Muslims believed in the equality of all men. The Hindus believed in many gods while the Muslims believed in one God.

He told the people of U.S.A. that the creation of Pakistan was necessary for peace in Asia. He said that Hindus and Muslims were two nations. The Muslims did not want to live as minority in India. Moreover, India was a vast country. One government could not control it. So under these circumstances the Muslims of India demanded a separate country for them.

The creation of Pakistan is very important for the modern world. Pakistan has brought peace in Asia. If Pakistan has not been created, Asia would have become a zone of danger. It would have been a great problem for the modern wold. Asia covers a major part of the world. It should be made stronger for the peace of the world. The Western countries must transfer their knowledge and experiences to the backward nations. This can be done through Pakistan properly.

Our unity and faith were when India was divided, we were asked to set up a new state of eighty million people within a period of two months. At that time we have no capital and no flag. We were allotted and army but it was dispersed far and wide. We have no military equipment. With a few months of independence seven million homeless refugees came to us.

It is the duty of the Western countries to make Asia stable for the sake of world peace. They should help the newly independent countries in rising the standard of living by sharing with them their scientific and technical skill and their social and political experiences. They should help Asia in its development work.

6- THE WOLD AS I SEE IT.

The ideas of Einstein are simple. In the article "The World As I See It" he expresses his views about different aspects of life. Einstein says that the purpose of life is unknown to man. Our stay in the world is temporary. We live for the sake of our fellow being because our happiness depends on the smiles and welfare of others. He believes that his fellow beings have contributed much towards his betterment. He wants to help his fellowmen to fulfill his duties towards them.

Philosophers believe in perfect freedom but Einstein disagrees with them. Man has limited freedom. Inner emotions and external circumstances guide his actions. This means that man is not free in his actions. When he feels that he is not master of his will and can not achieve every thing he desired, he does not suffer from any disappointment. He leads a happy life.

Einstein has always been inspired by the ideas of truth, goodness and beauty. He loves mankind and believes that without friendship, life would have been extremely meaningless for him. Property, outward success and luxury are useless in his eyes.

Einstein is a very reserve person. He does not freely mix with others. He has always liked to be left alone. He says that lonely person has independent opinion, habits and judgements.

Einstein says that leadership should not be thrusted on the followers. The followers should be given a fair chance to choose their leader. He is against forced leadership. Einstein thinks that political and commercial interests have corrupted the different nations and are the cause of war.

Einstein does not believe in God who rewards or punishes. He does not believe in life after death. He believes that such views can satisfy only those people who have a weak will power. He says that he is deeply aware of the hidden forces in the universe and is trying to understand them. It is only in this sense that he calls himself a religious.
