Naughty Ally and Larry
|
"Ally, you're thinking about stuff aren't you? What is it?" "This is going to drive me nuts"...she thought..."he can see right through me." "Now that I'm here in your place, I realize I don't know you at all, Larry? I'm seeing that picture and wondering if there are more children. How many wives have you had? How old are you? Where do you come from?" "Maybe we should take it slower, Ally. I'm fine with that. Just to feel loved by you makes me so happy. And, by the way...that's Sam, he's seven. He's my only child. I wasn't married to his mother, but we lived together for three years. Helena was my first wife. I'm 36 years old. And, I was brought up in Amherst. What else do you need to know right this minute?" "Did you love them?...you know, Sam's mother and Helena." "Yes I did Ally, but I love you more now than I ever loved either of them. I've never loved anyone like I love you. And, I'm only at the beginning of loving you." Ally looked over at him. This love between them...it was so simple and lovely. You didn't even have to think about it. She sat down on the couch and in a moment he was beside her, holding her in his arms and kissing her now and then. After a while, she leaned her head on his shoulder and before long she fell asleep. Ally'd been through a lot of turmoil today, but now, as he looked at her, she seemed peaceful and content. Gently, he picked her up and carried her into the bedroom. He pulled off her outer sweater and her boots and pulled the covers over her...all the while she slept, looking so sweet and innocent. He loved that childlike quality of hers...it was where her magic lived. Then, he got into bed, took her in his arms and fell asleep himself.
Ally looked up at Larry, she'd been asleep in his arms and now she lay there just looking at him. She wanted him to wake up with her making love to him. Ever so carefully, she slipped off her clothes under the sheets. "Hmmm, he's a sound sleeper"...she noted. Then, pulling off his boxers, she rolled over and got on top of him. "Is this some sort of secret operation?"...he asked, startling Ally. "You're awake. I was going to surprise you, Larry." "I'm not that crazy about surprises. I like to know what's going on. I just pretended to sleep because...well, I was enjoying it." "Larry I can't believe I got here at 12:30 p.m. last night and we still haven't **done it**...that I fell asleep"...Ally said, playing with the hair on his chest. "I sorry your plans fell through sexy lady, but I've got two free hours before I have to meet Mark, so how about we pencil in some 'getting to know each other' time." "Grrrrrrr...you're such a teddy bear"...Ally cooed, covering him with kisses. "Let me at you."
Ally had gone home to change and made it on time for her 11:30 meeting with John and the Lawsons. John noticed something was different with Ally. He couldn't put his finger on it, but she was flying happy. Maybe Brian had finally proposed. After the meeting, Ally stood at Elaine's desk going over some boiler plate legal work for the Lawsons. "Is Mark around?"...she asked casually, really wanting to know where Larry was. "No, he and Larry Paul are in court all afternoon. Mark said they'd probably stop at the bar later to let Richard know how it went." "Yeah, it's big bucks. Richard must be on pins and needles. I hope it goes well"...Ally said nonchalantly. She didn't really know how to handled telling people about her and Larry yet. She figured it had to stay secret until after his divorce issues were settled.
Ally walked into the bar and sat at the Cage & Fish table. Richard and Ling were bickering about whether they were going to have sex. Nelle and John were being lovey-dovey and Elaine was scoping the crowd for men. Renee was up on stage getting ready to do a number, but when she saw Ally she crooked her finger and motioned for her to come over. "Are you all right? Where were you last night?" "I'm fine Renee, I just can't talk about it right now." "Well, maybe you can't talk about it, but I do know where you were. I hit the 'redial' button after you left and got Larry Paul. I thought you hated that guy." "Look Renee, trust me. Everything is fine...I just need some time." "Okay, but don't get yourself in trouble. Brian's not worth it." "What on earth is she talking about"...Ally thought, but decided she'd better let it go and let Renee think what she wants. Ally went back to her seat, ordered a martini and settled back to listen as Renee sang 'Loving You'...one of her Elvis favorites. Knowing how much Ally loved the song, John leaned over and asked her to dance. "Love to John. Don't you just adore Elvis." "I do Ally. Say, you're in a mighty happy mood today, quite a shift from yesterday. What's going on?" "Oh, you know." "Any news about you and Brian?"...John asked, fishing for possible engagement news. "I suppose...yes there is, but I can't talk about it right now...not even to you." Just then, before John could say anything else, Larry was cutting in. "May I"...he asked John formally. John looked surprised that Larry was cutting in and even more surprised that Ally was letting him. Larry pulled her close and whispered..."A half million dollar fee. We got all three of them off. "I don't know how I got through it. All I could think of was you and how much I love you. I'm so happy." "Larry, we've got to be careful. People will find out about us...your divorce. Look, they're already suspicious because I'm dancing with you. They all think I hate you." "I suppose you're right"...he said, pulling her even closer. "You could stomp on my foot now and walk off in a huff...that would cure their busybody little minds." "Funny, but don't dance too close"...she said, pushing him back with a little shove. Larry knew the divorce issue was not a problem. Helena had cheated on him numerous times. He had a lot of proof too and she knew it. As far as the Cage & Fish folks, he figured it was time to have some fun. After 'Loving You' was over Ally bolted back to the table and Larry went up to the stage, introducing himself to the blond woman who seemed to be in charge of the music. "Hi, I'm Larry Paul. I noticed you're letting patrons perform here. Do you think it would be all right if I played a song I wrote for someone in the audience? I'm a fairly good musician." "Sure Larry, be my guest"...Vonda offered. "Do you want back up?" "No I'll accompany myself, thanks though." Renee did a double take..."So, that was Larry Paul. Just who was he going to sing to? I wonder if it's Ally. This could be disastrous"...she thought, thinking how much Ally disliked the guy." Larry sat down at the piano and played a gorgeous intro, then, he spoke into the mike. Hi, I'm Larry and I wrote this song for Ally. Ally didn't hear him at first, but Renee caught her attention. "Ally, I think you'd better look up at the stage"...she said. Ally's heart skipped a beat. "It's for you, Ally"...he repeated, seeing that he had her attention. Then he began to play. From Larry's intro and the look on both of their faces, Renee suddenly understood what all the secrecy was about. This was going to be a love song....
A sea of feelings flow
Touching our thoughts and dreams Chorus
Reaching out to find a way
Flying into our hearts
A moment and we knew
Your face etched in my mind Chorus
Reaching out to find a way
A sharing of our souls
Your heart so wild and free
I yearn for your sweet touch Chorus
Reaching out to find a way
And Ally...well, she was transported from all life's cares as soon as he began to sing. Halfway though the song she rose from her chair and slowly walked across the dance floor without taking her eyes off him. Standing directly in front of him, a few teardrops gently slid down her face...he was her 'someone' and she didn't care who knew it anymore. As he stepped off the stage, they just stood kissing and looking into each other's eyes for what seemed an eternity. "I stayed up all night after the penthouse party and wrote it. It was the only way I could think of to etch you in my mind. And, tonight I wanted sing it so everyone would know how I feel about you...about us." "It's so beautiful, Larry. It seemed as if I already knew the words...that they'd been spoken before in our hearts. We're home Larry, from now on all paths lead us to each other."
