"TILL DEATH US DO PART"
Source: TV SOAP
Date: Mar 10 - 24, 2003
Terri and Mitch finally exchange vows in one of All Saints' most
heart-wrenching episodes.
Terri decides she must marry the man of her dreams before it's too late, on All
Saints. The head nurse has watched in distress over the past few weeks as her
lover's condition has deteriorated. Since Mitch was diagnosed with a brain
tumour, time has been running out for the golden couple.
When Terri realises just how uncertain their future is, she decides to make
every moment of every day count.
The pair always imagined a lavish, romantic wedding celebration. But with Mitch
so weak, they're unable to realise that dream. Instead Terri organises a
surprise weeding party, keeping it a secret even from Mitch.
With her heat breaking Terri has witnessed Mitch suffering the worsening
symptoms of his brain tumour. The blackouts, the fatigue, the weakness and the
memory loss have become regular occurrences in his life.
While she knows his recovery would be nothing short of a medical miracle, Terri
discovers that Mitch has been secretly talking to Luke about a high-risk
operation to remove the growth. He's determined to live.
As Terri lies beside Mitch one night, she clings to the man she loves, knowing
she could soon lose him forever.
Having witnessed Ben and Bron's romantic nuptials just weeks before, and being
moved to tears by their feelings for each other, Terri decides to take control
of her own destiny.
She tells Mitch she's organising a special dinner as a celebration of his life,
with only his closest friends in attendance. But Terri has secretly organised a
celebrant to marry them while their friends witness the much-anticipated
occasion.
The moment for which Terri has waited since she first met Mitch years ago is
finally imminent. Having endured so much heartbreak in the intervening years,
her dream to become Mitch's wife is a last to be fulfilled.
At the dinner, Terri's bombshell wedding stuns their friends, but they
excitedly gather around to congratulate the couple. Mitch is overwhelmed by the
marriage, the celebration of his life and the outpouring of love.
Surrounded by her colleagues and friends, Terri holds onto her new husband as
if she's clinging to the memories of the day to make them live on for years to
come.
But it's the surprise arrival of his cousin Paul which has a profound impact on
Mitch. The two men recollect another miracle survival to which they were both
witnesses.
Paul makes Mitch remember what a fighting spirit can achieve - even again the
greatest odds.
With his new wife by his side, and with thoughts of his daughter Lucy in mind,
Mitch looks around at his friends and knows he has much to live for.
