Chapter One:

"Someone tell me why we're here again?" seventeen year-old Jenn Flanigan asked, playing with her sunglasses.

Her friend Libby Saxon looked up from where she was watching her sister and cousin running around in circles.  "Because I wanna see 'N Sync," she replied with a shrug, wondering how many times she had told her that day.

Jenn rolled her eyes in return.  "Please.  Spare me.  You've already seen them in concert, and from the front row, might I add.  Which you so conviently dragged me to.  Must you see them again?"

"If I don't see Justin again, then I will make your life a living hell for the next three days," she replied in a voice that would freeze over hell.

"Touchy, touchy," Jenn said, acting like a bitch as usual, sitting down on a nearby bench and taking out a nail file.  Libby had only brought Jenn along for the three hour trip to Hershey because she had insisted that she come to "keep you under control."  She claimed she hated 'N Sync.  But Libby knew she was lying, it was apparent at the concert they had gone to.  Every time Justin walked by, the girl got a ga-ga look in her eye.  Libby had tried to rub it into her face that she was lying, but she insisted that she hated them, that they were "Backstreet Wannabees."  Libby and Jenn had known each other since kindergarden, and had been friends in the past, but since they had graduated, Jenn was acting completely different toward Libby, and she didn't know why.  Libby decided not to dwell on it.

"Where's Matty and Taryn?" she asked after looking around and not seeing them.

"How should I know?  They're YOU'RE responsibility, not mine," Jenn said, never looking up once.

"Do you want to sleep in a bed tonight?  Because the reservations are in MY name," Libby said, after the feeling the made her want to jam the nail file up Jenn's nose had passed.  Jenn ignored her comment and Libby looked around for the kids.  Sure enough, they were standing in line for the paddleboats.  "I'll be back soon," Libby said to Jenn, who had apparently seen something she liked, since she was sitting and staring with That Look in her eyes.  Libby could see that look coming a mile away - that was Jenn's I See Someone And There Ain't No One That's Gonna Get Him Other Than Me Look.  And it usually worked for Jenn.  The girl was a Britney Spears look-alike.  And with her bitchiness, she could pass for Britney with no problems.

"Didn't I tell you not to wander away from me like that?" Libby asked as she neared Taryn and Matt a minute later.

"We wanted to go on the paddleboats," Matt whined.

"Well then go on them," Libby said, leaning on a gate.  "I'll watch from here, you guys have fun."

"No, come on one with us!" Taryn exclaimed.

"Uh, no.  I don't do water things Tar, you know that.  I saw Titanic one too many times."

"What's the matter, Libby Baby afraid of the three-foot deep water?" Jenn's snotty voice said from behind her.

Libby spun around and was about to remind Jenn about her irrational fear of flying and seeing the movie Final Destination, but she suddenly forgot what she was about to say.  For good reason.  Justin Timberlake was standing with Jenn, his arm draped around her shoulders.  Libby's mouth dropped when she sw the rest of 'N Sync walk up behind Jenn and Justin.  "Libby, meet Justin.  Justin, this is that obcessed girl I was talking about," Jenn said, stressing the words obcessed and girl.

"Whatever she said about me, I can assure you, it isn't true," Libby said through clenched teeth, while looking at Jenn with a death look.  Then she turned to Justin and gave him a sweet smile.  "Nice to meet you."

"Likewise," he said, shaking her hand with his free arm.

"Well, we'll be seeing you Libby.  Justin asked me if I wanna hang out with him for the rest of the day, and I said yes.  So I'll see you at the hotel later.  Let's go guys," Jenn said, backing up with Justin and trying to get the rest of 'N Sync to come with her.

"I think I'll stay with Libby," Chris said quickly, moving to Libby's side.

"Suit yourself," Jenn said after giving Chris a look of disgust.  "Later."  And with that, she walked off, dragging Justin with her.

After they had gone, Taryn looked up at Chris.  "You're heavy," she said when she caught his gaze.

"Huh?" Chris asked, totally confused.  He turned to a laughing Libby and rasied his eyebrows for an explanition.

"She had this dream a while back, that you guys were in a mall or something and you knocked her over.  Consequently, you're heavy," Libby explained after she had calmed down a bit.

"I think I understand now," Chris said, still half clueless.  He decided to leave it at that.  "So, Jenn tells me you just graduated."

"Yeah, second in my class to be exact," Libby added, sure that Jenn did not tell them that.  Or that Jenn had graduated second to last.

"Congrads.  So, Jenn used to babysit you?"

"What are you talking about?"
