Chapter One:
"Come on you guys, let's go, we're already gonna be late," Ali Timberlake complained as she and her friends Sarah and Spring walked out of Sarah's house, holding about ten bags of various sizes each.  The three friends were going on vacation to Ocean City, Maryland for two weeks.  They had been friends since sixth grade, now Spring and Sarah were twenty, Ali was turning twenty the next month.  It was the middle of August, Ali's birthday was in September.  They had seen their favorite band, the Backstreet Boys, a week prior at Montage Mountain in Scranton, PA.  The girls lived no more then an hour away from the Mountain, so they decided to wait for tickets.  They ended up with front row, on the side.  And Sarah and Spring were ecstatic.  But that was beside the point.  Now, Ali was annoyed at her friends for making them late.

"You guys, you know it takes five hours to drive to Ocean City, if we leave now, then we're gonna get there at one in the afternoon," the short brunette said as her friends loaded their stuff into the back of Ali's 4Runner.

"Yeah, yeah, I know," Sarah replied.  But it's eight AM.  I'm still asleep.  I hope you don't need me to give you directions or anything, because if you do, then we're gonna get lost in Delaware."

"Don't worry," Ali said, rolling her eyes at her sleepy friend.  "I know my way there and back with my eyes closed."  Ali demonstrated by closing her eyes and stepping on the gas for no more then a second, which freaked out her friends.

"Woah, don't do that!  It's too early to get into an accident!  And I wanna see Brian again before I die, thank you very much," Spring said.

"A.J. too, thank you very much," Sarah said, getting her favorite Boy into the conversation.

"Don't you worry, I want to see Kevin before I die again, too, so I won't kill us before we even get out of Pennsylvania," Ali laughed as her friends tried to settle themselves down.

~On Backstreet's Tour Bus...

"You guys, I can't stop thinking about her," Nick said to his bandates.

Brian moaned in annoyance.  "Nick, you don't even know her name.  You'll probably never see her again.  Will you please do us all a favor and STOP talking about her?"

"Nope," Nick said, staring off into space.

"Bri, don't start with the guy, he's annoying and he knows it," Kevin said, looking up from the magazine he had picked up at their last tour stop.

But Nick was obilvious to everything Kevin had just said.  He was staring at the picture A.J.'s mom had taken of her and her two friends.  More or less at the beautiful brunette in the middle, the short one.  And he was wondering if he would ever see her again.
Oh well, Nick thought.  Hey, who knows?  Maybe I will see her again.  Maybe she'll find out about this concert in Ocean City and get tickets somehow.  I guess I can only hope.

"Well, we're here.  Guys, wake up!" Ali yelled at her sleeping friends.  The three had rented a condo near the boardwalk, two blocks away from it, and it had three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room, it was basically a slightly smaller house on the beach.  Afterunpacking for about an hour, the three decided to get some lunch and look around the boardwalk.

After finding a resturant, the three sat down at a table, ordered what they wanted, and started talking.  Ali heard a little girl begging her mother to stay in Ocean City for another week, and her mother replied, "No, not just because of those boys, I don't think so."  Ali almost dismissed the argument completely, but she heard the girl whining, "But Mommy, I wanted to see them sing That's The Way I Like It again!"

Ali was jolted to attention at the mention of That's The Way I Like It.
Omigod, That's The Way I Like It?  She HAS to mean the Boys.  But why would they be here?  Their tour ended yesterday, in New York.  Where would the be singing here?  Then it hit her when she saw Spring looking in the magazine they had gotten at the Realtor's office. The Ocean City Convention Center, that's where.  And that is also where we are going as soon as we get done eating, Ali thought as she smiled at nothing particular.

"What are you so happy about?" Sarah asked her.

"Oh nothing.  Say, I was wondering, would you guys wanna go check out the Ocean City Convention Center after we get done eating?"

"But I thought we were gonna shop," Sarah asked, clearly disappointed that she was missing shopping and trying on bikinis.

"Oh, we will.  I just wanna go to the Convention Center, that's all.  I just have this weird feeling, like something's gonna happen on this vacation.  Something REALLY good."
