Chapter Twenty-Eight:

"Hey guys, what's up?" Lily asked as she walked into the kitchen, where Cathy and Jamie sat at the table, Cathy was reading the comics and Jamie was looking at the Sports Section for some reason.

Cathy looked up from reading Snoopy to see Lily, with a huge smile on her face.  "Not much.  Where were you last night?  Didn't hear you come in," she said, folding the paper in half.

"Oh, me and Nick went bowling," she grinned.  "It was fun."

Cathy lowered her vision to the table.  "You went bowling," she repeated.

"Yeah, we went to this place, and the lane was all glowing and stuff, it was fun."  With that, Lily poured herself a glass of orange juice and grabbed a cereal bar from the counter and sat next to Cathy.  "Thank you so much for letting me stay with you, meeting Nick was one of the best things that has happened to me in a long time."

Cathy shook her head and turned her attention to her cereal, suddenly the way the frosted flakes crunched against the spoon seemed extremely interesting.

"Is Hallie there?" Brian asked when Jamie picked up the phone.

"Umm, yeah, but I really don't think she wants to talk to you," Jamie said, looking at Hallie, who was flailing her arms in the air and mouthing 'I don't wanna talk to him,' as she spoke.

Brian sighed.  "Well, tell her that I'm sorry I exploded at her, I'm sure she's running around the living room waving her arms around right now.  Just tell her to call me, please."

"Willdo.  Bye Bri."

"Bye."

"I CANNOT BELIEVE HIM!" Hallie screamed as Jamie hung up the phone.  "He is SUCH an asshole!"

"He said he was sorry."

"Sorry?  SORRY?!?  Yeah right, sorry my ass," Hallie said, throwing herself down on the couch.  "He had NO right to explode like that, there is NO reason he should have done that."

"You were grinding with JC Chasez," Jamie tried to point out.

"JC is a good dancer.  And Brian did not want to dance.  That is why I was dancing with JC.  If he has a problem with it, he can go screw himself," Hallie said slowly, trying to calm herself down.  She suddenly got up and ran upstairs.

"Where are you going, what are you doing?" Jamie asked, wondering why Hallie suddenly had the urge to leave the room.  "What did I say?"

"You didn't say anything," Hallie yelled from the top of the stairs.  "I just wanted to go to... somewhere," Hallie trailed off, grabbing things and stuffing them into a blue backpack.

"Somewhere?"  Jamie wrinkled her nose.  "Where?"

"Nowhere," Hallie said as she ran down the stairs and out the door.  She stuck her head in momentarily and said, "If anyone asks, I'll be back by, say, eleven tonight, K?  And if Brian calls again, tell him I said to go screw himself."

Jamie shook her head in agreement, she knew better than to argue with Hallie when she was in a pissy mood.  So she just shook her head and turned her attention to the press conferance on TV, the one Kevin and Ali had been to.

>>Press Conferance<<

"Well, the whole truth is that Ali and I are engaged," Kevin said, holding Ali's hand as reporters threw random questions at them and took hundreds of pictures.

"How long have you been dating?"  A question came from the back of the room directed toward the couple.

"We've been dating for quite a while," Kevin answered.

"Ali, you look slightly like AJ McLean, are you related to him at all?"

"Umm, yeah," Ali answered.  "He's my cousin, my mother and his are sisters.  We've been best friends all our lives."

"How does AJ feel about you getting married to one of his bandmates?"

"He was a bit jaded at first, but he's okay with it now."

"What about the rest of the band?  Are they dating anyone?"
