Chapter Ten:
(Thanks to Cassie for helping me with the beginning of this chapter)
Ali and Cathy spun around to face none other then.....  Nick Carter (surprised, weren't ya?  Thought so.)

"Oh, shut up, you dork," Cathy said, meaning every word she was saying.

"I wouldn't be calling me a dork right now, if I were you."

"And why not?" Cathy replied, growing very angry with the youngest Backstreet Boy.

"Because of two guys named Rob and Wes."

Cathy's jaw hit the floor.  "No, you can't know, I didn't tell anyone."

"Yeah, not even one of your best friends," Ali muttered under her breath.

"I wasn't told actually, I just saw you and Rob getting pretty cozy at that party last week."

"You didn't know me last week," Cathy retorted, getting confused.

"No, I didn't, but like you, I like Matchbox 20, and I spotted Rob.  Naturally, you caught my eye, because of the fact that you guys were practically connected at the hip.  And when you showed up with Wes yesterday, well, I put two and two together."  Nick saw the look of awe on Cathy's face, and said, "I'm not as dumb as I look, trust me."

"You, you can't tell anyone.  Please, Nick, I'll do anything," Cathy said, pleading with Nick.

"Anything?"

"Almost anything, I'm not like YOU, you horny little snot."

"All I want is for you to be nice to us.  Meaning me, Brian, Howie and Kevin.  That's it."

"That I can do.  You have yourself a deal, Mr. Carter," Cathy said, shaking his hand.

"Good.  So, what's this about marriage, Ali?"

"Oh, nothing," Ali said, blushing.

Nick apparently didn't notice, and said, "Whatever.  Anyway, I'm having a party tonight at eight, you guys should come.  Tell Jamie and Hallie too.  Ali, you know where I live."

"Yeah," Ali said, slightly distracted at the thought of parting with Kevin yet again.
I wonder if he'll play Sprung, Ali thought.

"Okay.  Hey, I'll see you guys later, okay?"

"Yeah, bye."

"Nick better not tell anybody about Rob, or I'll kill him.  Justin Timberlake could replace him or something," Cathy mused as they were getting ready for the party at their house.

Ali sighed.  "Nick's not gonna tell anyone.  Contrary to popular belief, Nicky's actually very trustworthy.  He won't tell anyone.  He just wants you to be nice to him, and now you have a reason to keep your mouth shut."

"Grrr.  Anyway, he had better not tell Rob.  Or I swear, I'll kill him."

"Whatever," Ali said, staring off into space, thinking about Kevin.

~At the party...

After about seven beers, A.J. got the brilliant idea to do something constructive with the three hundred jello shots that were sitting in Nick's fridge.  At least A.J. thought there were three hundred, he wasn't seeing too clearly.  And he wasn't counting too well, either, he kept getting stuck on sixty-nine for some reason.  Either way, he thought his idea was a good one, so he mentioned it to the others.

"Hey, you guys, you know that game, uhhh, what is it?  Oh, wait, Disney Trivia, that's it!"

"Yeah," Ali said.  "What about it?"

"Let's play it."

"A.J., we haven't played Disney Trivia since we were ten."

"No no no, let's play it with the jello shots."

"Alex," Ali began.  But only to be interruped by Kevin.

"Hey, wait a second, he may be on to something.  Explain, Bone."

"Okay.  See, whenever you get a question wrong, you take a jello shot off your partner's stomach.  And to be fair, since I know I'm pretty far off myself, everyone has to take five drinks before we even start."

"I get it," Kevin said.  "Disney Trivia's not a hard game, but it is after you got about eight answers wrong."

"Exactly," Ali said, taking a shot of Vodka.  "Ugh, I hate Vodka.  But it gets me, well, like my cousin quickly."
