Chapter Six:
"I'm feeling weak, I cannot sleep, my head is burning, I feel cold down to my feet.  I want you, somebody help, is ther a cure for what I've got, somebody tell me," Justin sang as he sat backstage at one of Britney's concerts.  He was bored out of his mind, so he decided to sing one of the group's new songs, U Drive Me Crazy.  Fortunately, it didn't sound anything like Britney's You Drive Me Crazy.  Otherwise, he never would have been singing it.

He didn't want to have anything to do with Britney Spears, actually.  He didn't even want to be at one of her concerts.  The only reason he was there was because Leigh had asked him to be there for moral support, since she was dancing with Britney.  Britney hadn't even asked him to come, and he had no idea why.  Usually, she was so clingy, he felt like he was being smothered.  But lately, in the past month that Leigh had been in Orlando, she got less and less clingy and started acting kinda distant.  Not like Justin cared, he was peachy keen with the whole "distance" thing that was suddenly going on between Britney and himself.

Justin had gotten a lot closer to Leigh, which was just another happy accident.  J.C. wasn't there for her as often as he should have been, for some reason.  Leigh wasn't exactly falling apart at the scenes, but Justin could tell that she was hurting whenever he didn't return her phone calls, or whenever he stood her up for a date and Justin had to fill in.  So, Justin took advantage of Leigh's beloved "Josh," as she had dubbed him, not being there and got closer to her.

Leigh hadn't even bothered to ask Josh to come to the concert.  She knew he would probably have something else to do, so she just didn't bother.  So, she asked her best friend Justin to come.  He seemed surprised with her invite, and when she asked him why, he informed her that Britney didn't even tell him that she had a concert coming up.  Leigh was not at all surprised, Britney had been treating Justin like dirt in the past month.  She didn't know about their past, but Justin didn't seem to care too much about the two being distanced now.  Leigh wasn't surprised with THAT fact, either.  Justin hated her when they were on MMC, but Britney adored Justin.  And Britney swore on Leigh's life that she would get Justin to herself someday, and as much as it pained her to say it, Britney was right.  And she HATED to admit when Britney was right.  Britney and Hayleigh were never friends, they just did not get along, all because of Justin liking Leigh and not Britney.  But the two put their differences aside when it came time to smile for the camera or for the fans.  Oh yeah, the two were "best friends" when they were onstage or in front of the camera.  But after the little red light went off and the curtain went down, they went their seperate ways and didn't speak unless it was absolutely necessary.

Justin decided to venture out to the side of the stage and see how Leigh was doing, he was getting bored sitting in her dressing room waiting for her to finish the concert.  When he saw her, he couldn't help but smile.  There onstage, doing the dance to Sometimes, was the girl he had been in love with since he was twelve.  Effortlessly, almost, she had a smile on her face, a genuine Leigh Smile, one that signified that she was in fact, having a great time out there.  But that was probably because she was doing what she loved to do, dance.  Even at MMC, Leigh was wary of getting in front of a microphone, she never really liked to sing, though she was good at it.  But when she was dancing, she was in another world.

When the show was over, Britney walked right by Justin.  Didn't even give him a glance, just walked right by him, headed for her dressing room.  And when she got there, she slammed the door shut and Justin heard a click, signifing the lock being engaged.  He didn't care at all, he wanted to see Leigh and congradulate her on a great show.  He was watching Britney walk in her door when he felt someone jumping on his back.  He spun around, expecting to see someone there.  But when no one was behind him, he got confused.  Then he heard giggling.  Then he realized he brought whoever it was that was on his back with him.  He grinned to himself as a girl put their hand over his eyes and said into his ear, "Guess who."

Justin was tempted to say, "The girl that I've loved for the past six years," but he bit his tongue, in case someone was around to tell Britney (he didn't like her at all, but he still didn't wanna get his ass kicked, and who could blame him?).  "Hmmm, could it be...  a beautiful girl?"  He figured saying that she was beautiful would just be excused as stating a fact.

"Ahh, you're so sweet you're beginning to hurt my teeth," she replied.

"Yeah, I know.  What can I say?  I'm a sweetheart," Justin said as he walked to Leigh's dressing room, carrying Leigh on his back.

"Ha ha ha," Leigh said.  "Sure.  You're just acting sweet to get on my good side."

"Am I succeeding in my trials?"

"With flying colors," she said, giving Justin a quick kiss on the cheek before jumping off of his back.

At that moment, there came a muffled moan from Britney's dressing room.  Both Justin and Hayleigh looked at the door, and at each other with confused looks on their faces.  That moan was definately a guy's moan, but whose was it?  And why was it coming from Britney's dressing room?

Justin honestly didn't really care, but he was curious all the same.  He put his ear up to the door and listened.  "Justin, maybe you shouldn't be doing that," Leigh said, but not before she was interrupted by Britney clearly moaning the words, "Ohhh, Jaaaaayyyyy Ceeeeeeeeeeee."

Leigh's mouth flew open, and Justin ran to her side just as she was about to fall down from shock.  Her legs gave way just as Justin put his arms around her waist and held her up.  He picked her up and sat her down on a couch in the hallway as she just started off into space, clearly shocked.  He ran over to the door and pounded on it, demanding to be let in.  The door was opened by Britney, messy hair and clothes, not wanting to let Justin in.  But he shoved his was past her and saw J.C. trying to hide behind the door, making an unsuccessful
