This
is a sweater I designed for a friend's little boy. I call it "Honey
Bear," for reasons that are probably fairly obvious.
The main part of the body was made with two strands of lighter weight
yarn, one a rust colored boucle, and another strand of a brown acrylic/wool
blend. The ribbing and cuffs were done with the single brown strand
as well. I used oddballs of red, gold and black wool/acrylic blends
for the pockets (honey pots) and beehive on the back. I used novelty
buttons for the bees. There's also a hood on the sweater, with bear
ears attached.
The hat, which he's wearing in the top picture. is made from a brown
cotton chenille yarn. I added ears to it as well, plus embroidered
eyes and a snout. The mittens use the chenille yarn for the cuffs,
then the same yarn as the sweater for the rest of the mittens. I
also knit and sewed on bear paw prints on the palm side of the mittens,
but they didn't show up on the picture.
