-Remedios Salem Lava, a native of Pakil, Laguna, had rendered 43 years of teaching in Public Elementary School. She was awarded as an Outstanding Teacher in Pangil-Pakil School District by District Supervisor and Staff.
-She was an active community leader that she organized 'Mother Class' intended for young mothers in the community having classes twice a week after school hours. She taught young mothers about proper nutrition for their family. This class was recognized by Pakil Municipal Nutrition Officers.
-She was also an energetic Scouter since she became a teacher that the National Scouting Committee (The Boy Scout of the Philippines) had awarded her Bronze, Silver and Gold Medal Awards.
-The Senior Citizen Pakil Chapter had selected her as the' Mother of the Year' for her remarkable accomplishment as a mother. She showed good examples of a warm human being.
-As a teacher, she made her classroom an atmosphere of nurturing and caring besides educating. Her students, their parents and all the teaching staff gave their full trust and respect to her. Her extraordinary performance of the job has been greatly appreciated.She was a Guidance Counselor and Health Guardian of Cornelio Celis Dalena Elementary School (C.C.D.E.S.).
-She also held Summer Classes for the Out of School Youth in the community to give them a chance to learn and apply their knowledge and talents appropriately; to make them responsible and productive citizens through Non-Formal Education, recognized by the Municipal Board of Education.
-In religious organization, she served two terms as President of Pakil Curia and two terms as President in the "Preasd. Our Lady of Sorrows". Being a devotee to Our Lady of Turumba, she erected a replica of an image of "Nuestra Sra. de los Dolores de Turumba at C.C.D.E.S., in honor of Her, with the blessing of Fr. Rody Lorico.
