mary

i met mary at work. she had been working there for over 5 years when i started, and is the boss's right hand woman. we didn't start hanging out until several months later when she asked me if i'd like to go shopping with her. she has a low opinion of her ability to dress herself stylishly. we went and had a great time together. our friendship has blossomed very quickly, and i'm very grateful for her. she's one of the few friends i've ever had that really has her shit together... it's a really nice change of pace from what i'm used to.

she is a professional dancer - she competes often and has been taking lessons for years without a partner. when she competes her instructor dances with her, which, i guess i common practice. she has more energy than anyone i know, and doesn't like to sit still for very long. as opposed to me, she is not a homebody, and will fill each day of each week up to the brim with things to do.

she has a boyfriend that lives in oregon, and they are very serious. this scares me. i have been working on her to convince her she needs to get him to move here, vs. her moving there. i would hate to lose her now, after i've just grown so close to her.
