i put off seeing this one because i was told the whole story was about a doctor who performed abortions and wanted his nemesis to do the same, but he had qualms about it...

sounded depressing to me - and that is part of the story, but it's not all of the story. this was a really great movie about a boy coming of age, and figuring out who he is. i loved it from the pit of my soul. it stars that kid who i saw in pleasantville and liked so much - but i still don't know his name. that pisses me off - because in my head, he should've won the academy award, not michael caine - and if he had, i would know his name!
