i am jack's REALLY BORED ASS! the last four days in a row have produced absolutely no work for me whatsoever. i'm about to jump out the window. this is starting to concern me - what if this company goes bankrupt?? we're moving into a new, bigger, more expensive building in a few months... what if the owners decide to "downsize"? of course, that wouldn't really make much sense, would it - move into a bigger building to accomodate all the people just to get rid of some. although, the interactive end of the biz is booming... it's us poor schmucks in the print department who are scrambling for work. is print really a dying art? i can't believe that could really be true - we still need billboards, and people still buy magazines and get mailings.... but it's still early in the web-game, isn't it?! what happens in 10 or 20 years? it could happen! damn - i'm glad i gave in and learned how to operate a computer - i was really reluctant in the beginning. i thought i'd be one of those grandmas who refused to touch a omputer even though all her grandkids tell her she can't survive without understanding it at least a little. i'd have to pay the lad next door twenty bucks just to program my vcr for me - of course, i wouldn't be missing any tv shows... i'd be unable to drive any of the new computerized cars in order to go anywhere. |

the move went really smoothly - i had a total of 7 people helping, and it took us only 2 hours! quickest move in history. i took monday off from work to unpack... and now, i'm happy to say, the condo is complete! there are going to be minor changes here and there over time, but at least everything is in it's place, for now. we get our new couch delivered on monday the 28th - that will be exciting... my first leather couch!! i've been trying to gather pictures of friends and family to put on the wall of the guest bedroom (ie: MY room). now paul and i just have to get off our asses and register some places. paul's family and some people from work have been asking about it, so we really should get it done. i'm dreading it for some reason. wouldn't it just be easier for everyone concerned to just give us money - and we can do with it what we want then. it would save us having to register for stuff we're not sure we want and it woud save them a trip to the stores... makes sense to me- but, i guess everything that makes sense to me, doesn't always make sense to the rest of the world. |
