pottery class is almost over.... last night would've been our last class, but they gave us one extra because of the kiln incident in the fourth week. they think one extra class period makes up for ruining four class periods worth of work. personally, it doesn't effect me, because none of my stuff got ruined, but if i were one of the other people who's stuff did get wrecked, i'd be a little disappointed in their so-called solution.

i couldn't think of what to make last night, so the teacher gave me an idea to make like a chinese bowl that's really flat and just curls up on the edges a tiny bit... i think if the glaze turns out okay it's going to end up being one of my favorite pieces..... and it only took me a half an hour to make. i'm going to have to think of a good way to paint it since i'll have all next class period to do that and i want it to turn out.

i was asking my teacher where to go to get things fired after class is over, and apparently there's no place out there that provides that service.... i think that's really odd. she said when she first moved to minnesota she looked and couldn't find one  anywhere... so she had to buy her own kiln. she did offer to fire my stuff for a small fee if she has extra room in her kiln from time to time. i wouldn't mind continuing to make stuff on my own time... i just don't like the structure of a class, i guess. that way i could keep in contact with her - which i would like, because she's pretty cool.

her brother's a big huge dork though.... boy, am i glad i've got paul, cuz she was trying to set me up with him. the guy actually originally said he didn't want to go to brown institute because the building was square. real motivated individual we've got here. plus, she's apparently always trying to set him up and find him jobs he'll like and he's just a dick to her. before i knew what a loser he was, i told teach to have him call me because i knew our company was hiring for interactive designers. well, he did, but i'll bet he didn't say 10 words to me the entire conversation. and when teach asked him about it he told her it was none of her business... after SHE gave him the contact! what a dick.... i can't believe she would think i'd have been interested in dating him.

squishy - one of the journals i read... is having a contest in celebration of her journal's second birthday. there are three categories.... i've already sent an entry in for one of them. she wants a new splash page, and entry template page, and a guest entry. since i'm always so antsy to redesign mine i thought it would be fun to try it for somebody else.... wish me luck! i don't even know what the prizes are - but i don't really care because the main reason i'm doing it is because she's a very widely read journal, and the winner can be linked to from her page.... so, if i were to be the winner, i would increase my readibility, which is my ultimate goal right now. which reminds me... if you read my page, and you haven't signed my guest book yet, please do - it's just the boost i need right now.... thanks - luv ya!
