5那得祭司職任的利未子孫,領命照例向百姓取十分之一,這百姓是自己的弟兄,雖是從亞伯拉罕身(原文是腰)中生的,還是照例取十分之一;
6獨有麥基洗德,不與他們同譜,倒收納亞伯拉罕的十分之一,為那蒙應許的亞伯拉罕祝福。
7從來位分大的給位分小的祝福,這是駁不倒的理。
8在這裡收十分之一的都是必死的人;但在那裡收十分之一的,有為他作見證的說,他是活的;

This Melchizedek was king of Salem and a priest of the Most High God. As Abraham was coming back from the battle in which he defeated the four kings, Melchizedek met him and blessed him,
and Abraham gave him one tenth of all he had taken. (The first meaning of Melchizedek's name is "King of Righteousness"; and because he was king of Salem, his name also means "King of Peace.")
There is no record of Melchizedek's father or mother or any of his ancestors; no record of his birth or of his death. He is like the Son of God; he remains a priest forever.
You see, then, how great he was. Abraham, our famous ancestor, gave him one tenth of all he got in the battle.
And those descendants of Levi who are priests are commanded by the Law to collect one tenth from the people of Israel, that is, from their own countrymen, even though their countrymen are also descendants of Abraham.
Melchizedek was not descended from Levi, but he collected one tenth from Abraham and blessed him, the man who received God's promises.
There is no doubt that the one who blesses is greater than the one who is blessed.
In the case of the priests the tenth is collected by men who die; but as for Melchizedek the tenth was collected by one who lives, as the scripture says.
And, so to speak, when Abraham paid the tenth, Levi (whose descendants collect the tenth) also paid it.
For Levi had not yet been born, but was, so to speak, in the body of his ancestor Abraham when Melchizedek met him.
It was on the basis of the levitical priesthood that the Law was given to the people of Israel. Now, if the work of the levitical priests had been perfect, there would have been no need for a different kind of priest to appear, one who is in the priestly order of Melchizedek, not of Aaron.
For when the priesthood is changed, there also has to be a change in the law.
And our Lord, of whom these things are said, belonged to a different tribe, and no member of his tribe ever served as a priest.
It is well known that he was born a member of the tribe of Judah; and Moses did not mention this tribe when he spoke of priests.
The matter becomes even plainer; a different priest has appeared, who is like Melchizedek.
He was made a priest, not by human rules and regulations, but through the power of a life which has no end.
For the scripture says, "You will be a priest forever, in the priestly order of Melchizedek."
The old rule, then, is set aside, because it was weak and useless.
For the Law of Moses could not make anything perfect. And now a better hope has been provided through which we come near to God.
In addition, there is also God's vow. There was no such vow when the others were made priests.
But Jesus became a priest by means of a vow when God said to him, "The Lord has made a solemn promise and will not take it back: 'You will be a priest forever.'"
This difference, then, also makes Jesus the guarantee of a better covenant.
There is another difference: there were many of those other priests, because they died and could not continue their work.
But Jesus lives on forever, and his work as priest does not pass on to someone else.
And so he is able, now and always, to save those who come to God through him, because he lives forever to plead with God for them.
Jesus, then, is the High Priest that meets our needs. He is holy; he has no fault or sin in him; he has been set apart from sinners and raised above the heavens.
He is not like other high priests; he does not need to offer sacrifices every day for his own sins first and then for the sins of the people. He offered one sacrifice, once and for all, when he offered himself.
The Law of Moses appoints men who are imperfect to be high priests; but God's promise made with the vow, which came later than the Law, appoints the Son, who has been made perfect forever.
The Old Testament has a small mention of Melchizedek in Genesis 14 verses 18 to 20. There is one more mention in Psalm 110. The teaching of Jesus Christ did not mention Melchizedek. It is only in this letter of Paul to the Hebrew Jews (who became Christians) that the teaching of Christianity is the teaching of Melchizedek. Why are all the churches so concerned about Jesus Christ and not on Melchizedek? So who is coming down, Jesus or Melchizedek?
Verse 2 has different Chinese words on 'first.' It can be 'from his head one name appeared..'
Verse 3 Chinese words are more precise and English version has additional words. If Melchizedek has no parents, tribe, birth nor death, how was he the king of Salem, brought bread and wine for Abraham, blessed him. Also Abraham gave him a tenth of the loot? How could he be the priest at the time when no temple was mentioned? Why Abraham did not follow his teaching if any?
Verse 8 Chinese version is different from the English.
Verse 10 talks about Levi in the loin of his ancestors when Abraham met Melchizedek. Literally speaking this is wrong. You can only say Isaac. Even Jacob was not in the loin of Abraham because Isaac was not born yet. If you take it as true, you are taking fate is true. This is because what is to happen is all pre-programmed with written form in scriptures telling what is to come.
Verse 11, what authority Paul can say there need a change of priesthood even the scriptures did not say so. If he was basing on Psalm 110 supposedly written by king David, why the Jews did not say they are looking for Melchizedek to come down?
Verse 13 is talking about the person mentioned not English version's 'and our Lord'. 'Ren' is people.
Verse 15 talks about another priest arising quite similar to Melchizedek. So we have Melchizedek and another priest. That are two priests.
Verse 16 says the second priest is made to spiritual form, not a human form, whereby there is no end to his life.
Verse 17 says the witness (not scripture) saying to him, "You..." From the Holy Bible, only Psalm 110 says this. And this is a poem supposedly written by king David. And Paul was basing on this to preach about someone similar to Melchizedek. The worst part is the Melchizedek priestly order. Paul did not explain fully about this, therefore there are many confusion in the churches about the Gospel on Hebrew.
Verse 18 talks about rules and regulation. Old is to be phased out. Which old rules and regulations he was referring? If the Melchizedek priestly order is not yet in place, the present rules and regulations are considered old. When I as Melchizedek come, new set of rules and regulations have to be obeyed.
Verse 19, Chinese version says '(law originally is a void) already provided a bright hope; relying on this hope, we can come near God's presence.'
Verse 20 says, 'In addition, Jesus becomes Priest, it was not due to not making a vow establishing it.' Psalm 110 was supposedly written by king David. Was that written as a vow by God? Can you believe a poem written by someone to be a vow by God?
Verse 22 is talking about the new covenant where Jesus is the guarantor.
Verse 24 is talking Jesus the everlasting Priest. If you can understand the meaning of this verse and verse 22, you can be enlightened.
Verse 26 has Chinese words 'ha yi' I don't understand. I think this part is missing in the English verse. 原是與我們合宜的 It could mean that 'it is in union with us'.
Verse 27 has Chinese word 'too' I don't understand. Try to understand this verse fully. As the Chief Priest to offer himself once forever to have the job done, is equivalent to the sealing on the Mark on the forehead. When the finger poke at the Mark, it is like crucifying Jesus whereby you will be saved. Don't misunderstand this to be the crucifixion of Jesus in around AD 32. Now is the new order, Melchizedek priestly order, therefore the Jesus inside you at the Mark on the forehead has to be sealed or crucified. You need only once and you are saved.
Verse 28 talks about Law. If the vow was written by king David as per Psalm 110 was understood by the Jews then, there is no need for Paul to preach. What happened then? When was the Psalms compiled into the Old Testament? Why Jews still reject Jesus? Don't they believe what is written in Psalm 110? How was only Paul managed to interpret Psalm 110 and did this preaching in Hebrew Gospel? Others were idiots?
