Voyageur Canoeing

Travel Pictures

Here are some photos of expeditions to various locations together with pictures of historical interest from trips in B.C.

Leaving camp for a fifteen day 400 kilometer Voyageur expedition up the west coast.

Toba Inlet

Toba This is a typical scene along the west coast involving steep cliffs and cascading waterfalls descending unbroken from the mountain snows above directly into the Pacific ocean

Sunset Paddle

Sunset
Paddling in the late evening is often the safest and calmest time to travel due to the lack of wind and the calm waters as you can see in this photo. We would try to make up for bad weather and wind or tide conditions when given the opportunity. These trips up and down the coast would often involve long paddling days with a start at 4:30 am and continuous paddling until late evening about 8:30pm with a ten minute break on the hour.
