Dr Pavel calculated the sea entered the Bosphorus at a rate of at least 80 to 100 km
per hour and that the waterfall would have been equal to about 1,000 Niagara falls.
Glen Jones Lab dating for all the core samples surveyed from the sea bottom gave an absolute
uniform dating of 7,540 years ago for the flood. It is estimated it took about thirty years
for the sea to rise about 100 to 140m. The flood rose at a rate of about 30 cm per day
and about 1kilometer per day upstream on the plains. Archaeologists have given the report
little support except Prof Douglas Baily from the National History Museum in Rumania.
