"Matt...I think Kari's mad at me," Takeru said.
Matt put down the sheet music he'd been working on. "Girls are like that. Any idea what you did?"
"No clue," Takeru said, burying his face in his arms.
"Ignored her?" Matt suggested. His voice took on a definite teasing note. "Maybe you're hankering after someone else. Girls can sense these things, you know. I think they smell them." He wiggled his eyebrows at Takeru, causing him to giggle in spite of himself.
"Damn, I forgot how well you can read me. I'm not sure what to do. I know I care about Kari, but..."
"Sooooo...who's the girl?"
"Matt!" Takeru protested. "Be serious!"
"Well, now you've told me and you know I'm not gonna leave you alone until you tell me."
"Fine, fine, but...actually...I don't really like a girl."
"T.K.!" Matt exclaimed, mock horrified. "I didn't know you swung _that_ way!"
Then he turned serious. "Hmmmm...lesse...who could it be?" Then he smacked himself in the forehead. "Oh, duuuh. I should have realized. You and Daisuke fight the same way Tai and I used to. Am I right?"
Takeru just nodded. "As long as you said I could sing on this tour if I wanted to...could you write me a song for him? It seems the easiert way to tell him."
Matt frowned. "Takeru...I write from my feelings, and I think that's a lot of what makes my music so well liked. But I don't see why we can't arrange for you to do a remake...I know a few songs that might fit for you."
"Really? Thanks, big bro!"

"Remind me why I'm wearing this again?" Takeru complained, tugging at the outfit he was wearing.
"Because you look dead sexy and Daisuke will be all over himself?" Tai suggested, winking at Matt.
"But I don't know if he'll even be watching!" Takeru whined uncharacteristically.
"Don't worry, bro," Matt said, giving Tai the thumbs-up behind his back. "Even if he doesn't see it, everything about the concert will be plastered all over the papers tomorrow."
"I...guess so," Takeru agreed dubiously, tugging at the tight jeans and leather coat he was wearing some more.
"Especially since we got him a ticket, eh Tai?" Matt whispered to Tai.
Tai snickered.

Takeru walked nervously out on stage. He didn't know how his brother could be so calm and collected before a performance- anytime he performed in front of anyone he was nervous as hell, and he'd never performed for this many people before. "This is my brother Takeru- he wants to sing a song for you tonight, and for one person in particular."
Takeru cleared his throat. "Ahem...yes. As my brother said, this song is dedicated to a friend...whom I'd like to be more than a friend. And I know it's not the perfect song for us, but it seemd to strangely fit. Daisuke, if you're listening right now, this is for you. "

Another sleepless night I can't explain
Somebody said they heard me call your name
The radio won't let you leave my mind
I know it's over but I don't know why

Should've known better
Than to fall in love with you
Now love is just a faded memory
Should've known better
Now I'm a prisoner to this pain
And my heart still aches for you

There was no risk that I wouldn't take
And not a promise that I didn't make
All I asked was that you just hold on
And now I'm wondering what I did wrong

I gave you all of my body and soul
Never believing we might lose control
I took my hands off the wheel

I can't remember if the lies were true
It's been a million years since I touched you
I thought time might help me win this game
But being away from you is slowly driving me insane

Chorus out

"Matt, is Takeru aruond here?" Daisuke asked, poking his head into the dressingroom self-consciously.
Matt winked at him. "Two doors down on the right."
Daisuke left with a blush.
"Hey, Takeru, you in there?" Daisuke said, again poking his head into a strange dressingroom. Takeru yelped, before going through various stages of pale, green, and red, some shades of which should have been impossible.
"Erm- Daisuke-...I'm sorry if-"
"It's OK," Daisuke said, cutting off the stammering Takeru. "I...think I like you too." He put his hand behind his head, laughing nervously. "Oddly enough, I'm not too sure, cause I did think I liked Hikari..."
This seemed to break the tension, and both boys started laughing nervously.
"So...what do we do now?" Daisuke said softly. Takeru noticed that he'd gotten a lot closer.
"Depends," Takeru whispered hoarsly, "On what you want you want to do." He noticed distantly that Daisuke's arms had moved around him and were gently caressing the small of his back.
"How about this?" Daisuke suggested, pulling Takeru in for a kiss.
"Mmmmph!" Takeru agreed. That was the last that was said for quite awhile.

AN: Man, that 3rd to last line was just begging for me to make this into a lemon. -_-; 1
