Directed by Hugh Beaumont. This incredible episode was one of the best of the Leave It To Beaver series.

Beaver thinks its real cool to join a record club and get the merchandise at a low price. But he forgets to respond to all the cards he's getting along with the records to keep it under control.

When Beaver is listening to the record by Billy Baxter, he doesn't have a care in the world.

Wally senses that he can make more progress with Julie Foster if he grows a mustache. He grows one during vacation and then experiences the reactions to it.

Wally gets a job parking cars and he takes Eddie along. Eddie parks Mr. Rutherford's car in a no parking space. The car ends up at the police station and Mr. Rutherford is furious. Beaver is excused from school to appear on a TV talk show " Teenage Forum ". Mrs. Rayburn sets up a TV in the classroom so everyone can see Beaver on the show but he's not on it.

Jack Smith (he hosted the TV show " You Asked For It " from the 1950s) played the TV director in this episode. John Jacobs (he was the off camera announcer for the " Newlywed Game " and " Dating Game ") played the moderator of the TV program Beaver was on, " Teenage Forum ".

What's the attractive ticketseller at the Madison movie theater, Marlene Holmes (Diane Sayer), really like on a date? Wally finds out.

Lumpy's Scholarship 3-7-63
Wally finds out that he's being turned down for an athletic scholarship to State College. Then the Cleavers are totally surprised to hear that Lumpy is getting a four year athletic scholarship. Wally decides to give a party for Lumpy but something else develops.

Lumpy's grandmother lives in Porterville.

The character of Buzz was played by Nino Candido.

The Silent Treatment 3-14-63
Eddie's all excited that he has an FM radio that he can install in his car so he can be a bigshot on dates and be the first in Mayfield High to have FM in his car. He wants Wally and the Beav to assist in getting it installed. But June wants Beav to keep his promise of going to the grocery store. Beaver deeply resents this.

Beaver gets a great opportunity to go to a prep school in New England and have his Aunt Martha pay for it. It's called Fallbrook. He likes the idea and Aunt Martha is going to fly to Mayfield. But another situation develops.

Ward gets 2 tickets to the baseball game so who goes with him, Wally or Beav? Beaver has plans so Wally can go. Complications arise when Beaver's plans fall through and he wants to go to the game.

Near the beginning of the episode, Ward says something about June being a social butterfly. June says yes, me and Elsa Maxwell.

The 8th grade graduation dance and two girls present a problem for the Beav.

Ben Casey is mentioned in this episode. Both Ben Casey and Leave It To Beaver were ABC shows at the time.

When Eddie gets a summer job on a fishing boat in Alaska, Wally asks Ward if he can go to, but he says no. After talking to Captain Drake, Eddie sees the fishing boat would be a really rough experience.

Eddie said "Two Years Before The Mast" was written by Charles Dana. My research found it was Richard Henry Dana.

To get back at Lumpy for smoke bombing their cars, Wally and Eddie decide to link a chain between a tree and Lumpy's car.

That chain idea was repeated in the movie " American Graffiti " when Bo Hopkins and his band of thugs were forcing Richard Dreyfuss to play an awful nasty trick on some police officers.
