That Love Exists
by Alvin Benatovich - August 20, 1959

That love exists is like finding
Food on a barren plain.
So ponder not on how or why but rather,
On this wonderful fortune found.

For found is a luxury which not for a
Kingdom one would prefer.
Be glad that the sun comes and goes leaving you
In possession of heaven on earth.

Take and enjoy this sweet fruit of life
But be alert lest it turn bitter in your mouth.
Let not reality slip away, for you must stand
On steady ground to hold this prize.

If it is fate that this fruit turn bitter,
That the prize be lost, that the sun set,
Then remember what was.
Remember that you have known the richest reward of life.
